Volt is a Pan-European political party with plans to further unify Europe and get the continent working together on big issues. However, they're not without controversies, so in this video we wanted to explain who Volt are, how they work & what it could mean for the future of Europe.

    > Let's create policies that all European nations can agree on > Let's start with immigration Yeah, good luck :)
  • @Zero-oh8vm
My uncle voted volt because he's an electrician😑
  • @Anakianaj
Reading through the comments I think a video about "centralisation"/"centralised state" and "federalisation"/"federal state" might be very useful.
  • @AleksLehti
Thank you TLDR for creating this video back in the day, without this, i would probably not have found Volt when I did, and now i am the Co-president of Volt Sweden and was the list leader for the Swedish General Election.
  • @p.serrano3546
Fun-fact: In Portugal, even in tiny cities, the party Volt has created a list and is candidate for the municipal elections in September. Besides that the main candidate in one of the cities is Portuguese-Ukrainian.
  • @ethan5719
I'd be interested in a more in-depth video on Volt's policies!
  • @Lillith.
Volt is a very young party with young members and are trying to get the issues that younger people find more important. I also like the fact that they are reachable. They actively try to listen to the people who voted for them and explain their reasoning. It's something more parties should do.
  • @Cheddar2012
2:16 Volt doing Slovakia dirty leaving them out of federal Europe
  • @Glaumys
Could you make a video about all the political groupings in the EU parliament, and the national parties they're made of? And perhaps explain the trans-national groupings a bit more detailed (I still didn't quite get it)? I'd love to find out more! Also, a video about DiEM25 and other pan-european parties would be great too :*

I never get tired of those little guys with their sneakers.
  • @althedude7730
I am very much for a federalized Europe. Us small countries need to unite so our values and democracies can survive the coming turbulent times.
  • @kumikoOG
The multi-speed Europe thesis envisions an alternative type of European integration, where the EU countries that want a more integrated EU can accelerate.
  • @Zestrayswede
Volt has a Discord Server btw, feel free to join
  • @canoguz8172
I was really curious about Volt! Glad you guys made the video.
  • @Rokkidud
Volt is a great party, and their swift electoral success suggests a vacuum of European politics that ought to be filled. However, DiEM's policies seem much more thought out. I would love to see an alliance between the two. They are more alike than different. Just like Europeans! 😊
  • @TheTrackRecord
I am pro EU but I do think they need to be careful. There are strong anti-EU voices in the EU and if further integration were to push a country like France to leave then the whole project is seriously at risk.
  • I would like to see a video on DiEM25, it is different to Volt as it has different parties within the party like Together (razem) in Poland which affiliates with DiEM25
  • @paocut9018
After hearing about Volt, I would like to hear about DiEM25. I want to know all about the pan-European parties that want a European federation or any other type of united Europe.
  • I think if this was to even happen it would need more than just two levels being National and Europe. There’s probably need to be European regional levels too, like Northern (Scandinavian) level, Western, Mediterranean (perhaps a separate Iberian one idk) to focus on regional European affairs. So you’d have the Federal European level that has laws that cover the entirety of Europe. Then you’d have the more Regional European level which would be a bit bigger but the laws would only affect the countries in that region. And then a national level which would focus on nation specific things like local taxes and building houses and healthcare and stuff.
