  • "Different" is one of Band-Maid's anime themes. The anime community has commissioned quite a few themes from Band-Maid. They are very willing to listen to the animator's premise for the anime and incorporate it's plot devises within the lyrics. Other examples of Band-Maid's theme music are "Sense", "Shambles", "Glory, and "Corallium". They'll soon release one for an upcoming anime, 'Grendizer U', a song titled "Protect You" But don't trap yourself into thinking that Band-Maid is just anime themes. their music is all over the map stylistically. They do HARD ROCK, soft rock, ballads, love songs, hate songs, songs of inspiration, fight songs, fusion, jazz, rap, and they mix it all together in interesting ways. Band-Maid is best experienced LIVE. They put on a very entertaining concert. "Puzzle", "From Now On", "HATE?", "Moratorium", "Cross", "Warning", Giovanni", "Wonderland", "Onset", "About Us", "Endless Story", "Domination", "Freedom".
  • Band-Maid does not copyright block anything from their channel. Enjoy properly.

This song was commissioned for an anime. Kanami said she just picked it out of a folder she has of pre written music. In the same interview she said her goal is to write about 50 per year.

Welcome to Band-Maid! The best hard rock band I have heard in my 58 years on this planet. They don't stick to any one genre and often mix genres in songs. They are extremely diverse and have an extensive back catalogue featuring Punk, Pop-Punk, Hard-Rock, Classic Rock, Metal, Prog, Blues, Jazz, Groove, Rap etc. From face melting 220 bpm punk-prog to ballads, instrumentals to acoustics they do it all. They can make you headbang, they can make you pogo, they can make you cry like a baby. They are also five of the nicest people in music, without a shred of ego. They are funny and fun and world class musicians to boot. They are currently into their 11th year with the original line up. Btw, Miku the rhythm guitarist (red rose) formed the band. She had the idea of Band-Maid after working as a maid in Japanese maid cafe's. Her idea is a concept called "The Gap" - that is what you see (cute maids) is NOT what you get (Hard Rock/Punk/Metal). They take the maid café concept literally. They call their concerts "servings" and their fans "Masters and Princesses". Oh, and Miku is an 810 year old small pigeon. Welcome to the pigeon hole Po!

If you like the bass, you’ll love the band, generally. They started with one guitarist, and decided that they needed to add a second guitar for the music they wanted to make, so the founder learned on the job. They had to make writing choices around her skill level, so their bassist developed into kind of a lead bassist. Since then, their rhythm guitarist has really grown quite good, and they can play some crazy stuff. This track is a little bit older, and has some weird riffs that a lot of people bounce off of, but if you’re into it, you might want to check out Corallium.

  • Finally another competent reactor! Too many pauses? Yes. Annoying? Not unless you just say "this is amazing" like everyone else for 20 minutes. Welcome to the world of Band Maid, where you need to listen to a song at least 20 times to catch all the details. Good luck! I suggest "Wonderland" for great vocals.

Excellent reaction. You made great observations. Yes, the bass is prominently featured in most Band Maid songs. Interestingly, the lead guitarist, Kanami, does the composing so she is willing to let others shine. Saiki, lead vocalist, does make more stylistic choices in the live performances. The recent live of Don't You Tell Me is a great vocal performance by her. Live versions of Manners/Black Hole, Play, Domination, Wonderland also have stylistic choices (more vocal fry etc).
  • Band-Maid is known for their top-notch composition (Kanami Tono lead guitar, also primary song writer) and execution. This is a rare song without a guitar solo. Vocals are usually fast and rhythmic with great harmonies but they have all the other tools too. Thanks for the reaction!
