  • It should also be disclosed, many of the Hmong folks who moved there, did so for illegal marijuana. So perhaps, it has more to do with this issue than racism. Illegally selling/growing drugs always equal bad news for a community. People in this town probably just want their town to stay safe and clean.
  • Folks need to get along with the laws and traditions of where they move to. I'm only going to address the water issue Water restrictions exist FOR EVERYONE during drought seasons for good reason. My personal experience was I was curious why my seasonal creek and pond stopped running even before the drought hit critical levels. So I sent up a drone to look upstream. Lo and behold, 30 greenhouses on one tract directly upstream. They seemed to be thriving in August 2022. And if people that depend (and are even willing to share) on this water for their livelihoods complain, the only defense is you're a racist if you don't give us YOUR water. Wars start over water.

@NBC BA - this segment was too short and poorly edited. Felt like you didn’t let the story breathe more by going into details on the basis of the claim and how it will transcend to other parts of the country as you claimed.

Stand up for your rights. Stand up against racism!
  • @dianaprince9311
This shouldn’t be happening in 2022 I am glad their suing and I hope they win!
  • @henr0les
Ok out context but I think they were limiting water for their crops , specially weed crops. Not details about the other things.
  • Elect AAPI leaders into the government and change the racist culture including getting rid of the sheriff. Best of luck to you!

  • @user-ch7kb7pe5r
Honest question here, can we get further details on this? can you guys note any specific incidents which proves the discrimination?
  • @joeyriveira6697
Wish this group “good luck “ hope you’re able to prevail & pave a path for future generations .
  • @83dsvhtubb
That’s one of the most racist parts of CA!

I was born in Siskiyou County and later moved to Oakland. What a cultural shock. There is a very conservative attitude among many people in Siskiyou that is based on the fear of the unfamiliar. Many there want to split of from California to become the State of Jefferson.

The Asians there make up like 1.6% or so, but got pulled over 28% or so times. I remember reading something like that a couple months back, that's pretty bad.
  • What was the issue? I didn’t hear 💩? I heard their allegations but where’s the proof ?
  • @ergo322
is this near Yreka area where the fires are calling all to evacuate ? :(

To be honest..the Asian community has been behind much of the marijuana grown there. It takes so much water to grow this crop that they have to illegally divert it for irrigation. I know this because a friend of mine caught them doing it from his ranch
