I have this guy best friend back in my home country and we were dating (it was a long distance one since I already moved to the US) and we dated for a whole year but then I liked this one guy in school and I broke up with my best friend for that other guy. But I never dated the other guy and still liked my best friend. And I just ignored him because the last conversation we had he was mad at me that some guy just managed to get my attention real quick. And my girl best friend in my home country told me that while I ignored him he was depressed and cried a lot. And literally when someone would mention my name around him he would break down and cry on the spot. And then three years later she told me that he ended up getting stabbed. I was so worried that I would never get to say goodbye to him and I purchased a plane ticket behind my parents back to go see him. Right now he is recovering well and he never stopped loving me and neither did I. As of our relationship status, we are not dating but I am back with him and sitting on the couch with him right now.
