The flight engineer is like the drummer for a band, usually forgotten by the public but is an essential member of the group.

That's all the technology of yesterday. With a computer, all this is displayed on a screen.
  • @jimfesta8981
Even to this day, every time I see a Boeing 747 I still can't believe how big that airplane is and how well it flys. What a milestone in aviation history.
  • @renhoek
I love flying aircraft with analogue cockpits. Even my watch is analogue!
  • @JustBeingAJ
Glad to have seen this video. This is the 747-SP cockpit I assume ?
  • @carlmaster9690
Though I prefer modern aircraft with highly advanced cockpits, I still like to marvel at the old classic aircraft with their anolog cockpits filled with all the dials and knobs etc. I also love the look of the Flight Engineers Panel, decpite it looking super complicated like.
  • @omaralsinawi191
imagine monitoring all these analogue gauges ...during a whole flight while ...now modern aircrafts have digital screens where with a button click u can view every thing
  • @DavidWade66
Very cool to see how it was done. What airline can afford such an expensive classic? Must be a cargo flight!?! Feels like watching a WWII B-29 startup.
  • I miss those old cockpits, none of the modern digital display crap of today Just pure gauges and switches
  • Boeing 747 Flight engineering panel. Engine about to start but there is no light. So the ignition failed to start the engine with in time.

Question to 747 enthusiasts: how many auto pilots are on this aircraft in the video? And how can you tell? (Hint: answer can be determined by looking at the video around 0:49 sec point).
