The controversy over Tibet is set to intensify. The U.S. Congress has passed the Resolve Tibet Act that urges Beijing to re-engage with Tibetan leaders for a peaceful resolution of their dispute with China.

The act is soon expected to be signed by President Joe Biden. On 19th of June, a high-level US congressional delegation visited Dharamsala and met the Dalai Lama.

The Dalai Lama is in the US currently. Will there be fresh tensions between USA and China over Tibet? If Tibet becomes independent again, everyone wins, for there would be no border dispute between India and China and South EastAsia will have no problems with water resources as major rivers like Brahmaputra,Mekong, Salween etc are flowing from Tibetan. Plateau!

We are grateful of India and Indians for giving us an asylum. India is like our second Motherland and we actually love India. However, if you think US is playing Tibet Card then, India has played the Tibet Card in 1950s and has been playing since then. India knows the best about the reality of Tibet, mainly that the Tibet was an INDEPENDENT NATION before the illegal occupation of Tibet but, India has never accepted that to not to upset China. However, China has played a dirty games with India over and over again. Hence, India and Indian should now openly support our cause and support the US Bill. Now is the right time to prove your integrity so that India shares border with Tibet and not with China.
  • China reacts strongly whenever other countries or international figures discuss Tibet. But , The issue of Tibet extends beyond China’s internal affairs to include human rights, religious freedom, and cultural preservation. Labeling the Dalai Lama as a separatist distorts the true nature of his objectives. Ironically, it is the Chinese government itself that has acted as a true separatist by fragmenting Tibetan society through restrictive policies on rights and freedoms, tight control over religious and cultural institutions, and the integration of Tibetan regions into various Chinese provinces. Administrative reorganization and sinicization policies have exacerbated this division. Historically, Tibet operated as an independent region with its own government, culture, and religious traditions until China’s invasion in 1950. This historical context challenges China’s stance and underscores the reasons for international discussions on Tibet.
  • You should not use such derogatory words like Tibet “controversy”. AN INDEPENDENT COUNTRY WHICH LIVED IN PEACE FOR CENTURIES WAS RAPED AND ILLEGALLY OCCUPIED BY COMMUNIST CHINA IN 1949/50. What you have to learn is until 1951 THERE WAS NO BORDER BETWEEN CHINA AND INDIA. IT WAS INDO-TIBET BORDER FOR CENTURIES. THIS IS CHINESE IMPERIALISM THAT HAS GOBBLED UP TIBET BY FORCE. it’s a huge issue and not a mere controversy!
  • Freedom of Tibet is Freedom of India. Once India’s border with Tibet. India will save huge amount of army budget in borders currently spending. , May peace ☮️ prevail on EARTH including in China. We love Chinese brothers and sisters. They all same human being like us who want to live happy peaceful life.. world belongs to the humanity not for leases.
  • @TenpaTenzin
Not only Tibet issue. It's global humanity issue.
  • “Tibet card”is not appropriate word for Tibet. Tibetan people have been suffering since China’s occupation.
  • “Tibet’s Independence is India’s Security “ Tibet was an Independent Nation for generations. No, questions ask. Sure one human being talks to another human being.

The Resolve Tibet Act passed by both houses of US Congress "Rejects as 'inaccurate' China’s false claims that Tibet has been part of China since ancient times.” That is absolutely true. "In 1842, a peace treaty was indeed concluded between the local authorities of China’s Tibet and the Kashmir authorities". "As per the Chinese Government official's statement made in 1847 to the British representative that this section of the boundary was clear." On the Eastern Sector, McMahon Line, frontier between Tibet and Assam in British India was negotiated between Tibet and Great Britain at the end of the Shimla Conference (914) That means Tibet was independent entity for over hundred yrs with right to do international agreements at least from 1842 to 1949 when Communist China illegally occupied it. The Resolve Tibet Act strengthens India's position Vis a Vis China. It is clear that Aksai Chin boundary was well defined but Chinese changed their mind after Nehru unilaterally surrendered Tibet. China then cleverly incorporated Aksai Chin into Xinjiang to eliminate1842 treaty & Tibet's right on it. China has also reduced the original boundary of Tibet & incorporated its areas into mainland China. India's Indo-Tibetan boundary lines have as much sanctity as Vladivostok, Sakhalin Islands which became part of Russia & Hong Kong which became part of Britain with well defined agreements during that period which China calls Chinese Century of Shame. India has international border with Tibet & not with China. China must vacate illegally occupied territory of Tibet and restore it all the areas of Tibet illegally annexed into mainland China.
