I know a guy that supplied greeting cards to medium to large scale retailers. His job was entirely dealing with the supply chain. He had rules of thumb when it came to product estimates and production triggers, where he had to think months in advance as he had to involve shipping by boat. His rules of thumb could handle half of his products, and his skills and hard work could handle half the remainder. That last quarter...was anyone's guess. He retired with 45 years of experience with greeting cards. Good luck fellas.

As someone who's been following the journal's story for a while, I'm still tickled every time Grey and Myke say, "We printed more than ever before, and still sold out almost immediately!!!" Congratulations to you both, and may you (eventually) find the right number to send to the printer lol ;)

Potential way to alleviate the stocking issue, a subscription service, whereby a new theme journal is sent out every season/year, handy for those that plan on using them on going and giving a forecast of the demand

Holy crap! I was so sad that HI wasn't a thing anymore and this was here the whole time? :D

If you're going to get a fire extinguisher, get a co2 one. The foam gets everywhere
  • I am a perfect example of someone who has been listening to the whole Cortex series from the beginning since November and I have finally almost caught up in real time. So 113 was released last week and I'm so close! I'm planning on starting at the beginning of Hello Internet next.

I think the time of year is very important, as you mentioned. At least for me, buying journals is a very new year's thing.

They're talking about the physical journal but I can't wait until they come out with a Personal Theme App.

This was interesting, well timed for the year and calm. Thanks guys for the hard work
  • Catching an eel is a perfect analogy as eels that are in London reproduce somewhere in the Sargasso Sea and no one knows how they do it.
  • Spaceship You is often used as a starting point but I think Grey's notes in Omnifocus to himself of inside before outside reminds me of the quartermaster and captain pirate videos of him signing the conteact with the code before hand with himself.

At Amazon there multiple teams of PHD scientists working the eel problem 😁

When it comes to multiple themes question. I've never really worked on the theme system before, though I always had a similar goal driven process in my mind, which never really worked the way I wanted it to because there were always multiple competing "themes". That's exactly why I picked up the theme system for my: "year of focus", with the main goal trying to eliminate the wanting to do too many things at once. :)
