This teaser specifically is adapting a journal from Gerald Robotnick you unlock after beating "Sonic battle" twice, Emerl goes buck nutty after absorbing a ton of information about secret weapons while on the Ark and goes on a rampage. Its such a deep lore moment im so glad Sonic team is bringing back all of Sonics insane lore again

Sonic Battle was ALWAYS canon The timeline goes like this: Sonic Adventure > Sonic Advance > Sonic Adventure 2 > Sonic Advance 2 > Sonic Heroes > Sonic Battle > Sonic Advance 3 > Shadow the Hedgehog Emerl is canon because of Gemerl, Gemeld appears in Sonic Advanced 3 as one of Eggman's creations, it's a copy of the original Emerl, at the end of Advanced 3, Gemerl becomes good... In Sonic IDW comics, Gemerl appears, and since the IDW comics are canon, so does Gemerl and Emerl Edit: I changed a bit the timeline + added Shadow

Sonic Battle was the first time I ever played a game with Shadow. I was kinda surprised later by Emerl's story being relevant to Sonic Chronicles of all things as the Nocturnus mass produce Gizoids.

SPOILERS: in Generations Eggman uses the time eater (correct me on the name) to undo ALL of Sonic's Battles so Sonic Adventures 2 NEVER happens which means Marie doesn't die because of Eggman..

Someone NEEDS to make a petition to have which ever company/studio is cooking up more Sonic stuff have Alejandro voice a character in said universe. Personally would love to see him voice Biggs the Cat.
