If you are listening In Flames's discography backwards, from the new stuff to the oldest ones, it almost looks like seeing the story of a shitty, hipsterish, alt band becoming one of the greatest Melodeath legends out there.
  • When they play these old songs you'd think they would say to themselves "jeez this is alot better than our new material" lol
  • @robocop1441
stunning, would love to see inflames doing jester race only tour
  • @CaptainRandus
I love that Anders kept the vocals the way they were recorded

Even though I'm not a fan of their new work, The Jester Race is one of the greatest metal albums of all time! Brings back memories and tears......
    Respect.
If I ever see them live, and they play anything from The Jester Race or Colony I will loose my shit headbanging. \m/

Tired of dull ages, I walk the same ground,
    Collecting the tragedies still
Hollow ambitions in a hollow mind
Carried my cross to the hill

And how I lust for the dance and the fire
Deep of the nectarine sunset to drink
Spill me the wind and its fire
To steal of the colors - I'm the moonshield

    Shattered hope became my guide
And grief and pain my friends
    A brother pact in a blood-ink penned
    Declare my silent end

Naked an dying under worlds of silent stone
Reaching for the moonshield that once upon us shone

And how I lust for the dance and the fire
deep of the nectarine sunset to drink
spill me the wind and its fire
    to steal of the colors

    I'm the... I'm the... I'm the...
    I'm the moonshield

Probably the best his vocal has sounded in years. Should play more old stuff, his voice suits them so much better.

He can still growl, sad he doesn't much.

Edit: Its been 2 years and this is still one of the best live vocal performances I've ever seen

emos started to run away as soon as they play these songs.
  • I would pay $100 for a new album like this. It's a good investment considering I would listen to it until I die.

So happy to hear such old songs live. I was really surprised at the concert in Austria a few days ago. I went crazy :D
