Behind the Scenes of Henry's Handcar Havoc

Published 2016-02-27
As promised, here's a video detailing how I filmed the episode "Henry's Handcar Havoc" for my wooden railway series. I will admit, it was a bit weird showing you all this but with the amount of requests I've received over the years, this video was inevitable. If you have any questions, feel free to leave them below. Thanks for watching and enjoy!

I don't know why this is so satisfying to watch but it is Anyway, I really like how in-depth you went with this. Nice work.
  • 7:37 There's a face on the back of the knapford express coach! Hahaha! That was me when I was little too!

As bad as stepping on track is, one pain il never forget from my child hood is kneeling on track! When building layouts and playing tug my trains I certainly had my share of cut, rug burned, and impressioned knees

And I thought you would move your trains while narrating, then unlink the audio from the video, shorten the video bit, then add in the next shot w/out its own audio and play it over the audio from the previous shot. This is really cool!

  • @zmsaustin
Great video!! Stepping on trains hurt! I'll agree!
  • i don't think you need all of that fancy your videos are great just the way they are.
  • Me: man this is cool and I'm thankful for this Others: DO A FACE REVEAL
  • Well, now I know how you do things. Sure, what I aim at is higher than what you're doing (because I aim to be an actor working in Voice Over TV), but it's still great to appreciate the simplicity of what you do. People look for high quality in Thomas videos, but forget how much work goes into that video. For you, it's just film, edit, add that signature techno-y(?) music at the end, and upload. Having been introduced to your work whilst you were in your early stages and before I joined YouTube, I have been a firm fan ever since. I enjoy seeing how you improve your work if you're not satisfied, and I enjoy seeing the finished product. But I understand how much you go through every time you film. Kudos! :)
