You can replace the m.2 without taking off the giant heat spreader. I've done it twice now, and you can insert an upgraded m.2 just be careful to keep it level. If you suffer from BSOD for no reason, there is a factory flaw they don't put the m.2 in 100% to the edge of pins, so listen to the little screw wiggle a little and put it back almost to where it looks like the screw won't hold.

Glad I chose the 1tb model at purchase time, I don't really want the hassle of removing a heatsink.
  • Thank you so much, it helped me a lot! I just replaced my screen with the help of your video. It's working fine and the screen seems qualitative! The only downside which is quite annoying is that when I close my screen, it looks like the laptop doesn't recognize it and doesn't go to sleep. The only way is to manually turn it off or put it to sleep. I do believe I reinstalled everything correctly but I may have missed something. Do you have an idea of where it might come from? Thanks for your help!
  • is it possible to replace the usb-a port on the right side of the device? and do i have to disassemble the whole laptop and remove the motherboard for this?

Hi! Unfortunately the right speaker of my Matebook broke. May you could tell me how to replace it? That would be awesome!

Can you change the Wi-Fi 6 to Wi-Fi 7? I saw the board and it seems that the Wi-Fi is soldered to the boards, I wonder if is possible to upgrade

Hey guys. Could you send me a close up picture from the bios chip section next to the gpu ? Would be great since I have a problem with my Matebook x pro 2020. flashed the bios chip and now the notebook is dead. My idea is I damaged or ripped of a compesitor next to the chip or I’ve fried the chip himself for what I would need the chips name

What size screws hold on the bottom panel? I believe they are Torx 5 but do you know what length they are? I lost one.

I have the MATEBOOK X PRO MACH-W19. I just cracked the screen. I need to buy a new screen. Do you have a link to where i can buy a replacement ? I saw in on eBay $230 and aliexpress for $110. But don’t know if it could be fake.

Major thermal design flaw in this model - there is no fin array on heat-pipes at fan output, so the heat is mostly circulated inside the chassis until throttling occurs, which is quite soon under any sort of load.

could someone let me know the specs or at least model of the SSD ?
  • @Proagrassiv
Instead of that low end discrete gpu they should have just used 10th Gen ice lake or ryzen with iGPU and there would have been place for a second fan. Literally could have been the perfect laptop, with no overheating and throttling issues, great battery life and perfect screen.

I left the laptop in a humid environment and it neither switches on nor charges anymore, even the small charging LED is not blinking. Did someone have similar issue?
