ULTRAKILL is one of the best FPS Games on the market right now. It's fast, vibrant, and has tons of style. A game that knows what it is and isn't afraid to branch out while also innovating on it's sub-genre. A Lightning in a bottle kind of opportunity to experience something new and refreshing.

    Fun fact about claire de lune: You don't need to get the skulls, in fact you can just be more badass by shooting the window above the door and jumping through it.
  • you see, every hitscan weapon can be defected by the coin and the piecer charge is a hitscan, you can guess the rest, also great editing work there

    I think my favorite little thing with ultrakill is that, whenever someone reviewing the game says something along the lines of such and such is too whatever, the problem can be boiled down to skill issue
  • I love how Ultrakill keeps every weapon viable through progression and have all of the different varients with unique mechanics that I don't see in other games.

  • Ultrakill is a rare beast, an experimental sucess that is rooted in old styles like older doom style FPS and old combo systems of hack and slash games merged into each other seamlessly. Ultrakill Doesn't feel like dusk, amid evil or even like unreal. It doesn't have the resource management aspects inherent in the original genre, nor the style of maps, not even like the multiplayer deathmatch arena style maps, it doesn't have the weapon hierarchy traditional in the original genre it's based on (again). It has mutated soo much from quake despite that being a strong part of it's influence that it has a completely unique impression. Not to mention it's just polished to an absurd degree.
  • I remember when I first played the visual novel level, I thought, "Oh, Hakita, you son of a bitch. You son of a bitch! I'm not playing this game to get emotional, man!!" Haha but it was pretty good. I really enjoyed it and it wasn't what I was expecting at all, really loved how it was written.
  • i swear the fear that enters my body when the visual novel level is mentioned is so intense (mostly a joke, its garrenteed your going to get a crazy good speech abt how life is worth living and I'm all for it)

    Ultrakill weapons feel like they are so basical to the regular eye, but have SO MANY COMBOS, AND TECHNIQUES! HELL, WE MAY STILL HAVE SOME UNDISCOVERED THAT THE COMMUNITY STILL HAS! The game literally WANTS you to discover these things. It never says “hey, press this, then punch that” or “press this, freeze it, and jump on it. If you shoot it, it go boomboom” and thats what i love about it. IT WANTS CREATIVITY AND DEMANDS YOU TO TRY TO DISCOVER THESE! On accident or on purpose! Good job on the devs for doing that. Honestly havent seen many games with that.
