  • At first I thought: "Wait Unity 6 preview is out?" Then the regression to use ECS: "Ima stay right here for now." This was a really cool devlog, I feel like the jump from grassblocks terrain to grass, dirt, sand, trees and water was a big gap in the timeline. Ima try HDRP to get those sweet sweet godrays now that I've seen this. What I've done in some of my projects is remove all the packages I don't use such as sprite-2d related stuff, visual coding stuff, unity version control, and use minimal other packages which really helps keep that loading time down (5s most of the time, literally just reloading domain). I hope they work on optimising Domain Reloading and repainting editor stuff in the future to make it more tolerable. Anyway, really cool video!

    Unity 6 new GPU culling and batching actually made me from 30mil triangles to render just 4mil on same scene, adding a few extra tasty dozens of fps Also you just had to clear cached files to reset their permissions to install needed dependency
