Am I the only one who thinks it looks worse?

My brothers in Christ, Minecraft had full RTX -- this is only RTX shadows. You're shocked shadows lose definition - yet that's what they're meant to do. You're not going to see sharp details the further something is from a lightsource

It looks like Ray's days of tracing are over.

It's almost like shadows are really well done by modern engines and don't need ray tracing (and Halo Infinite ray tracing only raytraces sunlight). Raytracing is the best at reflections, including on things like metal, and lots of small light sources, especially if they are different colors. None of which Halo Infinite's ray tracing does.

I feel like this is just sort of a testament to how good of job the graphics team did on actually simulating lighting, if ray tracing is this close to it. Should be accommodated honestly.
  • What minecraft did was path tracing the most taxing. This video to me shows no matter what halo puts out it will receive hate no matter what. I never believed the claims that the halo community is toxic but I feel like I'm some of the few halo veterans left that actually enjoys halo and isn't trying to hate just to hate. (Whoever felt SHADOW ray tracing was gonna give you some graphics overhaul please stick to playing roblox or something)
  • this was flagged as "not suitable for most advertisers" before i manually reviewed it btw lmao

It means they are that good at shadow placement and art.

I don't know what you guys expected. Look at literally any game that isn't minecraft and raytracing barely changes lighting. Minecraft got such a big change because there wasn't really any lighting to begin with, so they were able to take more liberties with ray tracing. Not to mention the fact that this is just sun ray tracing, not global illumination.
  • If you’re gonna add ray tracing why would you only do shadows?!?! It only looks good when you have light ray traced too 💀
  • The ray tracking wasn’t designed to overhaul the look of the game, it just added a bit of real time lighting to make it look better. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure the environmental shadows would have been baked on works ray tracing, so they would have looked good enough already. I think they should have added ray traced reflections but I guess there must have been some reason that they couldn’t do that with the way the game was built or something? Idk.

Does a lot for campaign because of the day night cycle. Multiple has set lighting so it already looks similar to Ray traced
  • Actually makes the game look a little less high def. That’s pretty ass bucko

„Remember when minecraft, the old ugly looking block game made new graphics and it was crazy? Yeah this relatively new game with already great graphics did a similar thing and it almost didn't change. How weird“
  • It’s incredible how good it looks even without the ray tracing!
  • @Unseen_Halo
All it does it make faded shadows sharp as fuck for no reason lol RAY TRACING BAM
  • @BreadSlice404
TheBoysUnknown making something actually POSITIVE about Halo Infinite challenge (IMPOSSIBLE)
