So basically everyone in Starbucks will see all of the websites you opened, lmao
  • While it's cool something like this can be done, there is zero upside and many downsides to owning something like this over a regular laptop.

It needs an LCD layer on the backside to make it opaque at will and improve the readability if needed.

The obvious privacy concerns aside (which I believe would somehow be addressed, were this to become a thing), I see absolutely no advantage in being visible or seeing behind the screen. This is the kind of product that would strictly be bought by someone who likes to show off, not someone who is actually looking for a good laptop.

Not sure this will catch on but I like the idea of a transparent panel display going from the floor to the ceiling to run Home Assistant on.

I guess when you check your bank account from buying this laptop it will show you a brick wall now

This is the sort of tech that belongs in places like the HUDs on fighter jets or augmented reality headsets, not on TVs or laptop screens. A transparent display on a TV or laptop would be utterly stupid as the content would be severaly more difficult to read with no benefit gained from being able to see what's behind the display. Lets look at printed media for example. We already have the technology to print stuff onto transparent 'paper-like' material. Yet it doesn't take a genius to see why modern books and documents still have opaque and not transparent pages.

The only use I see for this is for micromanaging bosses to keep an eye on employees. Either that, or something adapted into public displays like tourism terminals.
  • Yes, it is a bit unnecessary, but I think what we need to pay attention to here is that such technologies are no longer in the cinema industry and are made available to the public. that's why it's beautiful.

Ok while it looks cool, there doesn't seem to be a huge necessity for it, at least as a laptop. The glass might be useful further later on, but its a cool concept coming to life.

I feel like this is tech regression, you would think a transparent screen would come first then we would progress to a OLED. I mean fragile glass, dim and inaccurate colors, hard to see, everyone knows what you're seeing and don't get started on the keyboard. So much money wasted on R&D for a product no one would buy.

I would never want a transparent laptop. You want privacy. Not to show the whole world what you’re doing 🤨 Have you ever heard of digital privacy….? like think for a moment there
  • Can someone please provide pricing information in their country? Is it on sale?
