  • My sister and I went back shortly after you shot this video. Our family owned Twin Palm Cottages for a few years when we were kids.
  • Great video as always. Looking forward to visiting in November. Thanks for all you do for the islands and local businesses.
  • @DrJWR1
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS! Wish we were there!
  • @GolfRhino
Great to see things getting back to normal 👍
  • Thank you for this video update. Very beautiful Captiva is and so glad to see many places getting back to pre hurricane condition.

Hello and thank you for showing us the sights 1 year later. I visited Sanibel for the first time Christmas 2021 I’m supposed to come back Christmas this year. I’ve been watching the progress intently. ❤

SanCap road is bald compared to the beauty that existed when I first moved to Fort Myers in 1973. I find this to be so depressing. The foliage was the beauty, which hid the beautiful houses which you could never see from the road. I lived on Sanibel off Periwinkle in the 80's and we used to party at all the clubs, including Tween Waters and Crow's Nest. Good Times .

We have 4 timeshare units in South Seas and have been coming for over 30 years with our family group of about 25 plus. We evacuated on Tuesday last year a day before the Hurricane. We have been through it before, with a two year reopen delay. This year they claim to be just weeks shy of reopening despite not having swimming pools, golf course, restaurants etc. Not sure why anyone would want to come at this time. We are relieved that we were not asked to use our units, and give the resort's new ownership credit for giving us a credit for this year. Captiva is a magical place and we look forward to a full recovery. It will take a few years to regrow much of the natural beauty, but it will be worth the wait. Thank you for the video update 🙂

I heard that they have a Porta-Pottie and a Taco Stand now. And if you bring along a metal detector, you can still find tons of roofing nails.

Been down there several times but haven't been to their beaches, only tge ones on Sanibel but I definitely need to check them out. Awesome video, as you folks akways produce! Hey, Doc Fords on Captiva is history, no? Its not coming back?
  • Thank you for this video! I am planning my first trip to Sanibel/Captiva. I am so confused because i have read that there are no vehicles allowed on Captiva Island. However, this video is quite contradictory to that. Can someone please confirm for me that vehicles are in fact allowed on the island?

Sad to see the direction things are going but probably inevitable. Going cashless will only hasten the elimination of locals along with much nature and island charm for an overdeveloped private gated playground for a few uber-rich. Its already happening it seems. That said, thanks for the tour.👍
