I know it’s a “good” Modern Marvels episode when I hear this narrator. 💯👊🏽
-
Who else in 2024 looking at prices🫣
-
Man I love these old 2000s style shows.
-
He brings a sense of comfort when he talks about.... anything
-
Honestly this works amazingly as an early 2010s archive of what life looked like!!! It's cool seeing the older fashion and brand logos in the environment they would usually be seen in without trying to make it look nice like commercials do
-
Didn’t expect a 7-11 to be so interesting
-
I want a Modern Marvels on the actual Modern Marvels. The way they've maintained consistency especially with the same narrator is absolutely fascinating to me. Never dropping in quality. Simple, informative.. and entertaining. It's like, a modern marvel.
-
I like how they played “walk this way” during the explanation of enticing people to keep walking leading to more purchases.
-
This is the best narrator. It isn’t Modern Marvels with anyone else. ❤

Being from Long Island...I'm impressed the voiceover guy pronounced "Patchogue" correctly 🤣
-
I'm sitting here eating my muffin and drinking coffee, that I got from 7-11

I've never seen a 7-11 THAT nice ever in my whole life. Usually there's an 'ick' factor (dirty floors, limited options for drinks/food/candy, outdated shelves and decor, etc). A documentary said they're usually outdated and sketchy because they're independently owned and the owners don't make enough profit for a remodel. And they usually don't have gas pumps, which is when I go into a convenience store. I only go there if i'm desperate for a slurpy. ☕🍩

The 711 in East Patchogue is right next to a hospital.. it gets so busy because they also sell gas and it’s right off sunrise highway heading East to the Hamptons.. they built another 711 3/4 of a mile away on the other side of the highway to try and catch city bound traffic ..

I ate a pizza from 7-eleven last night it totally ruined my entire day been in bed puking my guts out lol.

"Pop's is a gas station, restaurant, drink stop, and gift shop." Buc-ee's: "Aww, that's cute."
-
This is a great episode. Do you think we could have an episode on county fair foods origins, sales and popularity over time?
-
I was stationed in Japan for a while, going to a Japanese 7-Eleven was a life-changing experience for me. IYKYK
