Your Story - ELDEN RING Return to Grace Contest Submission

I really want to win that 10ft statue.

This video was created for Bandai Namco's Return to Grace video contest for the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, though I hope my viewers will enjoy it as a video that can stand on its own, even if it's a departure from my normal content. Plus, it's a nice excuse to try out new visual editing styles :)

While I tried to get a narrative going that reflects how many players may remember the main story and progression of Elden Ring, I snuck in a lot of more subtle things that call back to my own personal experiences with the game, along with how it's already impacted my life in the few years that it's been out. This includes stuff like this video's featured builds, bosses, visual style, questlines, etc.

To the best of my knowledge, I have adhered to the rules provided by Bandai Namco US, including the usage of gameplay, trailer footage, and in-game assets along with the exclusion of any modded footage or anything that could violate copyright laws. The storybook visuals were done using rotoscoping, Blender shader nodes, and After Effects, and the song used is the Erdtree Avatar theme.

Also, again, I just really REALLY want to win that statue.

I would have entered if 1st prize was a 10ft statue of V-Limit

Unreal. I can't even understand how you created these scenes šŸ˜…

Hey everyone! I've spent the last half-year working on a ton of side projects (a few of which you can find over on VaatiVidya's channel), but with Shadow of the Erdtree right around the corner, I plan to focus my efforts on original content right here on this channel in the coming months. Although, before the DLC stuff fully kicks off, I made this video to enter Bandai Namco's "Return to Grace" video contest. The chance to win that 10 foot statue was just too good to pass up šŸ˜… I know it's not entirely in line with my usual content, but feedback is still, as always, greatly appreciated. And, if you think I should recycle some of these visual techniques for future content, or just have any input about this channel's direction, then definitely let me know!
  • Now that's should be an official trailer If that dosen't win i dont no what would Great job as always

Ah man it turned out SO GREAT! I especially love the shot where it swoops around the jarhead guy. This is so creative! Great job dude!
  • For a second there I thought torrent's foot falls where gonna lead into that iconic Ocarina of Time intro. Gave me chills. As always, your visual compositions are a sight to behold. Stylish with funny timings to boot. Good luck with the competition! Also, im glad to read youre gonna be focusing a bit on your own channel, even if i do love your other collaborations.

Amazingly put together Iā€™d say youā€™ve got a good chance for all 10ft of Messmer!
  • @RopeAJope
The stylization, animation, and pacing were on point. You should be proud of this
  • @Nydren16

  • @hhowdy
This was absolutely amazing wow, how long did this take? You know I was going to make one but the dead line is over I think and I donā€™t have access to camera shots and positions or CUSTOM ANIMATIONS to where I could just make it not just the over the shoulder POV. But anyways I would never even be able to compete with this anyways so great job.
  • @kitetales
Oh my gosh this is SO GOOD!! I love your animations so much. Now just do the entire game this way so we can play it šŸ˜†
