Comparing a good book to a bad book.

Published 2024-04-11
James Hunt was the 1976 World Champion, and a legendary figure. Quite a few books and shows have been made, but the difference in quality of some of this stuff is astonishing.

I remember as a child James Hunt winning the title in 1976 because almost straight away there was a Vauxhall advert that aired on TV that he was in. I see the original book had a forward by the legendary Murray Walker. I saw him at the Goodwood festival of speed in 2014 he was doing some book signings. He was brilliant ( Murray) and James as you will be aware used to do the commentating for formula 1 with Murray and i believe although Murray liked and admired him he found him very frustrating to work with.

I quite enjoyed Rush without ever being a big fan of motorsport. The modern market for biographies tends to be one that favours hagiography or polemic, whatever sells.
