Last Fall my 2023 Bronco OB 2-dr 2.7 came in. I love it, but I kinda feel like it will be my last gas burner. And that’s ok. I take care of my vehicles and run them at least a decade. My 2015 F150 sold me on the 2.7 ecoboost. The truck has 152K on the clock now, and it also sold me on the utility of a pickup truck and how reliable/strong the 2.7 is with 5000 mile oil changes and high grade synthetic oil. Your honest tale of an EV skeptic being converted by how good the Lightning is convinces me more than any number of writeups by EV lovers. I’m an electrical engineer looking to sell out of Plano TX in a few years and head west to Kingman AZ. That might just be a good time to slip into one of these. Thanks for the write up.

I stand with the same belief system as you. I’ve also owned 3 Diesel trucks that were all full size trucks. I own a Rivian now. It has absolutely ruined me for driving a Diesel truck again. If you truly need the power, distance, and towing for daily use, go diesel. If you occasionally tow like me up to 11,000 lbs, the EV trucks do really well. Charging while on the road is the ONLY set back. But that exact set back has taught me to slow down and relax a bit more while driving. Thanks for your video.
  • I couldn't care less about the politics behind it. I love my lightning. Iv always loved driving f150s. now I don't have to have that crappy 10speed. Also don't have to spend over a 100 to fill out up anymore. And the torque is amazing!
  • Gas in Vancouver, BC, Canada got up to $2.20 a liter. That is $6.08 a gallon in the US. We are looking at getting a Lightning.
  • Yes you can drive your Ford F-150 Lightning anywhere at a fraction of the cost of a gas/diesel-powered truck.,I recently drove our Tesla model 3 short-range from San Diego up through Nevada, Utah, Montana, Banff Canada , Vancouver Canada down through Washington, Oregon and back through California without any issues...

Great video man... I couldnt have said it better.. just got a lightning myself... Im a contractor and it works for me.... not a political decision... an economic one... who doesnt love to save money???
  • @pacman8945
Video is great man. Live in MO and I love my Lightning! I drive it like some day everyone will realize I was the smart 1. We will look Genius's. 100% agree this isn't about politics it comes down to family needs and the truck fits our life style to haul off road vehicles around while also being a daily driver. It get better $ per mile than my cmax!

Only in America... Land of the Free... Where everything is political and you can't drive a vehicle that suits you best. How ironic that Americans restrict their own freedoms when in communist countries such as china, people are free to buy what ever they want without judgement. Anyways, really enjoyed your stories and I am glad to hear you are enjoying the lightning. They are truly amazing trucks. Hopefully, more people such as yourself fight the myth that the vehicle you drive actually has anything to do with politics. As you said, EV's are not for everyone just yet, especially if you do a lot of long distance driving. But if it does suit your use case and you have the ability to install a level 2 charger at home, EV's are an amazing choice.
  • @filoniz
Best to buy used and then the savings really become a no brainer.
  • @ALRinaldi
Do you have solar to offset home charging costs? I heard PG&E is absolutely skinning y’all alive.
  • @MrAngryrooster
I have a lightning and I also hate that ev's have become so political. I'm right leaning and i get people assuming things of me also. I actually don't care about the environment too much. I don't let it bother me anymore. It's so much more cheaper to operate than an ICE vehicle and the power is crazy. it's a shame that a lot of people won't even give it a chance because they believe that ev's are a lefty thing. oh well. in the meantime, i'll keep saving money.
  • He said people are trying to make politics out of Evie’s They’re by far the superior vehicle. Not everyone can charge at their home. I would buy a different home,
  • Lived in Southern California for 43 years. Gas has NEVER been $7-$8 a gallon. IMPAID $4.08 last week
  • @sandpine
Lithium is abundant and EV batteries get recycled
  • If your politics are in conflict with your needs, of what use are your politics? What part of California do you live in? This is sarcasm, right?
  • @brainwasher0
Who makes it political? I don’t get it. It’s just a car that happens to be electric.
  • Things change over time. Was it political when we went from horse and buggy to the automobile? The resisitence is from big oil. No, EVs by themselves aren't going to save our planet but its one step in the right direction away from fossil fuels. Battery technology is moving at an incredible speed and for now lithium is about 95% recycleable and every day our power is getting cleaner. You speak of "choices" but its really about "freedom" and freedom ain't free! We have a responsibility to take care of our planet for our kids. As soon as it becomes political then common sense goes out the window and it becomes tribal with no consideration of the future. I love my Lightning, ICE vehicles and gas stations look like relics to me now. No more oily mess from chaging my oil. No more searching for the cheapest gas. With solar panels on my roof I'm driving on sunshine and loving it. Isn't anything political about that.
