I love anything Appalachia. History, hauntings, mysteries, etc.; it's all good! Thanks, JD.
  • I was born and raised here in Scott County, Tennessee. I was once arrested for a DUI and I spent a few weekends in this jail. I was on the second floor. I wonder if my initials are still on cell. Thank you for this historic video. Growing up here compared to the world outside these mountains, was i guess a different kind of experience. We learned to survive, depending upon ourselves, not asking for governmental help. I am 66yrs old, and this was the safest place to be. Everyone knew everyone and would look out for each other's children. Scott County was once the Independent state of Scott. We annexed ourselves from the state of Tennessee during the Civil War. Please look into that part of our history. Governor Alexander formally accepted us back in the state.

This was so good! Seeing the actual place really enhanced the story. As a child I really looked forward to Saturday morning cartoons. Now I look forward to Saturday mornings to wake up & see your posts. 😅❤

Another great story JD. Love hearing of the history behind this jail. Especially interesting was how the "citizens" would take the law into their own hands and issue old west style justice. Great job my friend. Thanks.
