M4 iPad Pro - what’s it been like to live with this past week?

That’s what we are going to look at in this video. Last week I gave you my first thoughts as I unboxed the M4 iPad Pro, set it up and started to get used to it.

Over the past 7 days, I’ve used it a lot as I start to adapt to iPad life and I’m starting to have some thoughts. First, should I keep the model I have with nano texture? Multi-tasking is it a nightmare or is it possible on an iPad? Is 1 TB of storage a waste of money?

The Magic Keyboard is something I have a lot of thoughts on and I talk about all those points in this video.

But what’s it been like for a die-hard Mac user coming to iPad and iPadOS? That is what you are about to find out.

Subscribing, liking and sharing are TRULY appreciated and go a long way to helping the channel grow and drive towards 10,000…🙏🏻

God damn, it's so articulate when you mention some pointers like I'm listening to a financial adviser giving me tips for my future. 👏👏
  • @DavidLewisTech
.....I've been at the desk with the iPad for the past 90-minuets replying to all your AMAZING comments. Thanks guys. If I've missed anyone...I'm sorry. More content to come. 👌🏻

Just stumbled across your review as I have the 11" M4 Pro - I just love your style and content - thank you A++++

I want to sincerely thank you for the wonderful video you shared. I truly appreciate your effort and dedication. Thanks again!

    1. I don't think you'll regret switching out the nano texture with a the normal iPad and going down to 512 GB. A £500 savings is substantial. 2. As an ardent macOS user I do not want macOS on an iPad. All they really have to do is implement a better file manager and better app and window management. 3. Many reviewers have said that the ipad gets you to 90% of being able to replace your Mac, but there are quirks that stops is from replacing a Mac - Apple still wants to sell Macs so I think iPadOS will always fall behind. 4. Excellent video, David. I'm glad you took the full week to use and review. You answered all of my questions and I am stoked you got the M4 so it should last you for years. It's not for me as iPadOS is what's holding me back. Have an excellent week,

Thank you for this. Your pace, candour, and approach are spot on, and your production quality and content are easy to follow, listen to, and learn from. Much appreciated. I was deciding between replacing my old (2015) MacBook Pro and the new M4 iPad with the Magic Keypad as my only device. Your video has given me the confidence to go iPad only. I'm now fully subscribed and wish you luck getting to 10K by the end of summer! Cheers from Ontario, Canada.

Thank you for such a polished, professional, and engaging video. Please keep us posted on your nano-texture decision. Not having glare is such a huge benefit and easier on the eyes, but I'm also not sure if it's worth the trade-offs.

Excellent M4 iPad Pro “new user” review: I watched your initial video on the M4 iPad Pro when you ordered it. I was hoping you’d use it for a few days to understand and fully appreciate what an iPad Pro can do. And you did 🙌 I’ve been an iPad user since the iPad 2. Traveled the US and the world with it doing business seminars, writing books, and writing a weekly blog post. Always loved the platform. Upgraded from an M1 iPad Pro 12.9 to M4 13”. M4 is amazing beyond words. Yes, I have an M1 14” MacBook Pro when needed … but work almost exclusively on my iPad. Just wanted to say how much I appreciated your review. It was nice to not watching another video bashing iPadOS. iPadOS gets better each year. Enjoy your new M4 iPad Pro.
  • I love how relevant and concise your presentations are. You are a rhetoric expert! Cheers from Sweden

I’m glad Apple is ignoring the loud and obnoxious techtubers and keeping iPadOS on the iPad. I enjoy using an iPad Pro as a tablet, not a laptop replacement. While the new Magic Keyboard is very nice, it’s way overpriced. If I need to use a separate keyboard with the iPad, which is very rare, I just connect it to a Bluetooth keyboard. The internal on screen keyboard is more than enough for most people’s use cases.

Great video. Lots of great information thank you.
  • New to channel, been on the Mac eco system since 1994 and your review here was top notch
  • @erikalmqvist
The main point with the 1 TB storage model is neither the extra storage nor the extra CPU core, but the double ram size. 16 instead of 8 GB ram might make a big difference longterm when iPadOS is evolving and becoming more powerful and when App Store offers more and more full feature apps.

THANK YOU!! I don’t want the Mac OS on the iPad. I got rid of my laptop and bout the 2017 2nd gen iPad Pro years ago. Still a great machine and going strong. Got the 11 inch m4 pro 512 gig and love it. Got the keyboard with it. I’m hooked.
  • @Iamcharliewren
Really enjoyed your video! Interesting and well thought out. You have a new sub!
  • @craigclough
Not an apple user these days but enjoying your content David. I did check out the iPad's at the weekend and it made me miss apple a little bit. For me it would be the iPad Air 13".
  • @Tech4YourNeeds
When I got the original Magic Keyboard, I first put a skin on it for the reasons you mentioned. Thanks for the tip on Grammarly I have the same problem.
