Renowned cook book author and Tavola founder Skye McAlpine brings us inside her divine Victorian home in the heart of Southwest London.

For more extraordinary home tours, visit our website: homeworthy.com/

When Skye first acquired this home, it lacked the original character one would hope to find in a Victorian house -- instead sporting a stark and contemporary aesthetic. However, Skye, with her keen eye for design, wasted no time infusing the space with a touch of magic, transforming it into a cheerful, vibrant and snug abode while preserving its remarkable structural features.

Skye’s formative years in Venice, Italy, have played a pivotal role in shaping her design philosophy and creative vision. Stepping inside, you’re greeted by a kitchen bathed in a dreamy custard hue – a space that Skye meticulously revamped to serve as a flexible space perfect for hosting gatherings and soirees. The interiors are adorned with exquisite hand-painted wallpapers, charming chintzy fabrics, and an array of vintage furnishings that collectively epitomize the timeless allure of classic English design. Enjoy!

Why do people watch these videos and then rip apart the generous people who open their homes? If you don’t have anything nice to say, then don’t say it. Kindergarten lessons. This is another lovely video, thanks Homeworthy! ❤

I may have seen episodes where I loved the home more than this, but I have never seen one where I fell more in love with the owner. She is so grounded, talented, and delightful! Here is a person who seems to just GET it, and it was so refreshing to have a host who LOVES everything in her home, not because someone else tells her it's valuable, but because she knows who she is and therefore, knows what she loves.

What a lovely episode, especially when the guest speaks from the soul, rather than naming and showing off belongings, as seen often!

She’s a very calming down to earth spirit- no pretenses - I really liked her because I felt like she was was grounded and welcoming - beautiful home- thank you for having us!
  • @dyinteriors
I just love her and her family welcoming home. She is just as charming as everything around her. I could listen to her talk all day.
  • This is a video that I will watch over and over again. This is a house of sooooo much interest. I dislike watching perfect neat interior deco. It bores me so much, but this house is on another level. Thank you homeworthy. Felicity Jacobs, Cape Town, South Africa
  • I am always re-watching this, it's inspiring and comforting in equal measure. Love Skye and her beautiful books x

Completely charming and unpretentious. So glad they reinstated the vintage character of the home. I would love to live there.

“The greatest privilege in the world is to make someone a birthday cake”, I loved hearing this precious saying! Your home & consideration of others is too Lovely! Thankyou for this more in depth tour & beautiful overview of how important cooking can be in bringing people together! 🤗💕

Absolutely love this. If she turned a horrid minimalist space into this, then perhaps there is hope for a return to coziness.

She is wonderful. I love the chair in her kitchen, and I love her dining table, and I love her style and how she reflects that in her home in simple details. ie: painting the inside of her kitchen drawers.

As someone who enjoys cooking, her kitchen is something I envy. Just gorgeous. Clever too, to turn the need for storage into wall art with the copper moulds. Also, if I had a bathroom like that, I would never leave the house :)
  • I absolutely loved this episode. She is charming and down to earth. She also shares my addiction to plates. Her home seems like such a charming place, just like her.

I thoroughly enjoyed this tour of their absolutely fantastic home. I loved everything. So much character and charm. Skye is a very talented woman who appears to be quite comfortable speaking about their home.
  • Loved the kitchen/dining room. So fresh, practical and inviting. Yellow is a perfect colour for the kitchen in the UK. I was just thinking that there isn't enough cottage style interiors in Homeworthy and this popped up. I'm always excited to see homes from the UK.
  • @Rebecca-rf8cc
I adore her love of color, clutter, and the fact that she orders from Abe Books, one of my favorite go to establishments for antique books! ❤
  • This is my favorite episode to date! I was absolutely entranced watching it. Such an inspiring home and human. Thank you Skye for sharing your incredible home with us. I would love to see more episodes just like this one. Thank you Homeworthy!
  • Who wouldn’t love to be invited for a meal?! 😁. So cozy and inviting would make it difficult to leave a dinner party. I especially love your choices in wallpaper. Adds so much to the rooms. Absolutely delightful home.
  • @curlybliss
She has such a peaceful, kind spirit. Her home is a reflection of that. This was beautiful💞👌🏾
