Part 1:    • Cassidy Doesn't Think Freeway Rematch...
--------
In this clip, Coach PR started asking Cassidy to break down Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s rhyming styles, and Cassidy started off speaking about Drake’s versatility. Cassidy pointed out that Drake doesn’t even have to even rhyme words to come off smooth, and he added that he never rhymes one-syllable. Cassidy added that he sees rhyming one-syllable as “cheating,” and he explained that he’s critical of other artists because he’s so hard on himself. From there, Cassidy spoke about his podcast, where he will break down different songs by each bar. After a breakdown on the difficulty of rhyming words with multiple syllables, Cassidy stated that Fabolous, Griselda, and Eminem can do that, but he added that it’s rare.

Imagine if Cass taught poetry in high school: “Ya’ll not getting any POINTS if Ya’ll not using more than ONE SYLLABLE..”
  • @SpazoDomingo
I would watch a Cassidy podcast where he breaks down rhymes
  • His is literally cutting a lane for himself. He has just broke down the science of rapping. He has just become a teacher. This is great for hip hop
  • @justadrum
Just picturing Cass listening to a Drake album by himself and thinking “Damn…where he get all these styles from? This is incredible” 😂😂😂
  • @treball8230
Drake has mastered human behavior. He can rap in any style, but this generation doesn’t appreciate lyrics the same way. That’s why a lot of his songs have been more simple now. He adapts with the times.
  • @LukeReneMusic
High level multi syllable rap he’s breaking down right here 🫡
  • @litosway9875
I appreciate him breaking it down and teaching people what true lyricist do and how rare they are. “Drake got a lot of styles and I don’t know where he gets them from” 😂😂😂 am I the only one who caught that??
  • @jamaulx
He definitely is a master wordsmith he can teach your class on this
  • fab was really the best at multi syllable raps - he would rhyme 7 syllable set for damn near a whole verse and it would never sound forced always effortless
  • Cass is so stuck on syllables - there's things that are just as complex like - Jay-Z with double entendres or Tupac holding notes and using his tone or Biggie's cadence or Ludacris' vocal inflections to add dynamics to a verse or Andre 3000 ending his lines with the first syllable and starting the next line with the second syllable or Lupe speaking in multiple points of views in the same song or Bone Thugs rapping fast with melody and harmony or articulating emotion like DMX

As an emcee since 87 when i was 7 i easily get and agree with what he is saying. Im more surprised that many people don't naturally realize this and its the main problem as to why back in my day only us serious emcees said we rapped and nowadays anybody, literally anyone can say they can "rap" and get away with it. And he didnt even start to talk about cadence and flow, the next part after flipping dope syllables. Well done breakdown.

I'm glad somebody knows how to break this down...I get frustrated trying to explain this to the people around me
  • Cassidy is describing true rap talent compared to being a good entertainer using rap
  • @Eighce8
This guy a true student and master of MCing
  • @semird615
Cas should have a series where he breaks down and reviews bars from other rappers. He is equipped with the knowledge to do it and he has a high bar when it comes to lyricism, no pun intended.
  • I was a big Cassidy fan as younin! BARS as his coming of age meant a lot to me what I went through. Love from South Africa Cass.
