Whomps and his family going on a vacation is the kind of moment you see in Mario RPGs (be it Paper Mario, Mario and Luigi, or SMRPG), where Mario enemies are civilized as the residence of the Mushroom Kingdom outside of Bowser's army and shared the same neighbourhood as the Toads.

Throughout the whole thing I kept thinking it was gonna stray away from being wholesome and end with something terrible, I’m glad the family just had a fun time! Nostalgia and serotonin is a wonderful mix!
