Ewing, Jordan and Worthy? Like we're witnessing the future of the prime years of the NBA.

Everyone forgets how great Big Game James was in this game.
  • @Michael-dd6hl
The talent from all 4 teams there was beyond awesome!!!

Senior year at UNC. One of the most stressful games to watch in Carolina history. Remember everyone piling on in front of the TV at the Sigma Nu house when Jordan hit that shot. Then down to Franklin Street. Dad was there in 1957. Daughter in 2009.

Where the LEGEND of Michael Jordan was BORN!!! Shout out to Jordan, Sam Perkins, James Worthy, Patrick Ewing, and Eric" Sleepy" Floyd, who all went on to have long and GREAT careers in the NBA!! R.I.P. Billy Packer. R.I.P. John Thompson, R.I.P. Dean Smith !
  • Patrick Ewing couldn't imagine the nightmare he was going to have to deal with every night

Billy Packer, I forgive you for all of the times I complained about your game commentary. Excellent job on this classic, world class matchup.
  • I was born 14 years after this game. But thank god for video this game was INCREDIBLE. And super cool to see MJ so early

I'm amazed at all the talent on the court that night, from both teams. Truly an awesome game.

Jordan's left handed layup over Ewing was the best shot of his career
  • @broenomics8620
Honestly had never seen Jordan pass the ball so much in game lol
  • @nader91
this is much better basketball than todays NBA

Sick of people saying Michael Jordan won the 82 Natl Championship...sure the talented freshman hit the last shot...but the MAN in the house...the MAN who carried that team...not only in the final game....the tournament....the season....was the unstoppable JAMES WORTHY......Worthy was a beast and proved it throughout his career...I will give MJ his props as the NBA GOAT...but i believe Worthy set a burning example for MJ at UNC..One the talented freshman would ride to glory...SO at least lets give the 82 game...and Patrick Ewing says it best....GEORGETOWN HAD NO ANSWER FOR BIG GAME JAMES WORTHY !!

Watched this game in 1982 on my knees in front of the TV. Even though I knew that the Tarheels would win on Michael Jordan's incredible shot, I felt the same tension as before. What a game. Forever my favorite team, coach, and game.

Here cause I’m currently watching “The Last Dance” and heard about this classic
  • James Worthy came up bigger than big. Scored 28 of NC's 63 points and shot over 70 % from the field. Over 70% !!! In my opinion Worthy is one of the top 10 NBA'ers of All Time and doesn't get the level of recognition that Pippen, Malone, Duncan, and James routinely has received. He was the guy out on the fast break for the showtime Lakers.

Crazy to think that Jordan would go on to crush not only Patrick Ewing in future NBA playoffs, but also his UNC teammates James Worthy and Sam Perkins (twice!)
  • @mr.nobody9697
That Jordan kid would be a decent scoring 6th man for any team in the NBA.
