The groundbreaking ceremony for the arena took place on February 24, 2024. The arena is located at 1 Bismay Street, Oniru, Lagos, on a 25,600 square meter construction site.
The Lagos Arena will be Nigerian’s first purpose-built arena, with a capacity of 12,000 seats and a cost of over $100 million. It will be designed primarily as a concert hall, but will also host sports activities, congresses, and other events such as family entertainment, boxing matches, UFC fights, and WWE shows. The arena will also include a hotel and ample parking space, and is expected to create over 1,500 jobs.

The Nigerian Sovereign Investment Authority is leading a consortium that is funding the arena's construction, contributing 40.5% of the project's financing. Other backers include Adino Capital Ltd., Sports Infrastructure and Entertainment Development Company Ltd, and Tayo Amusan's Persiana Group.

Awesome! Awesome, indeed!! This giant step, together with similar ones already executed or currently being executed in Lagos will undoubtedly put Nigeria, not just Lagos, in the World Map of Tourism which as we already know, is a cash mill. For those of us in the Diaspora the four letter word is "Pride". I just glanced over a YouTube video showing CNN featuring the EKO Atlantic City mega-project in Lagos! These are interesting times indeed for our beloved country. Glad to be alive to witness the transformation of our nation. Hey buddy, I don't know about you sitting over there on your TV couch whining, complaining, and bellyaching day in, day out over God knows what, contributing nothing but mind poisoning. As for me, an unrepentant patriot, and thoroughbred nationalist, I'm honored to declare that I'm proud be a Nigerian. Period, end of sentence!
  • The ongoing Lagos Arena is a good initiative to ease the stress on the Eko Hotel Convention Centre of hosting most of the major indoor events in Lagos. The location is a nice spot but I feel the capacity should have been up to 15,000 for concerts and sporting events.

nice and will definitely improve africa fastest growing city, but i foind the arena capacity to little for over 20 million citizen and theu couldve add some square metres and made it much bigger in size, sha nevertheless its great project kudos
  • Kudos to you for going this far to give us update on the project. I've been itching to see the progress of the project. We'll done Bro.
  • Nice location but i fear for traffic congestion during an event.... just saying

Nice, but the land looks too small for a project of this nature. Only subterranean parking?
  • Where are the "NDI DONT INVEST IN LAGOS"?...Just because Lagos couldn't tolerate their lawlessness
