Voodoo isn't exactly the most well known company when it comes to quality. But are their games really as bad as I made them out to be in the last Voodoo video. A lot can change in a year so maybe their games are actually good now? We'll see...

This is a bit of a sequel to the last video I made about Voodoo, in that video I took a look at the company itself and picked apart what made it bad. Feel free to check it out if you haven’t already: https://youtu.be/3VC8xdOZzKA

Voodoo is not a game development company, they are a video game publisher. They usually pay the developers that make their games (usually external studios) little to no money and they treat them like slaves. Trust me, I used to work for them.

Voodoo: So here’s a game that’s just a still image of a turtle. App store: 5/5 stars, 1M downloads, 756 reviews.
  • Voodoo is like the modern equivalent to those tiger electronics games.
  • Voodoo is the EA of mobile game companies, wanting quantity over quality!

"Voodoo makes NFTs now" I'm honestly not surprised
  • I love how in most voodoo games they straight up use royalty free assets despite being one of the biggest mobile game developers. It just proves that they try to pump out games as fast as possible rather than make a quality game.

One thing I've learned through my extensive playing of mobile games is that if it has 3d in the name, it's probably bad.
  • I remembered that there was 1 VOODOO game that I forgot what was called and wasn't a piece of garbage that I used to play everyday until it got straight up removed. The only things I remember was that its a open-world where you play as a boat and you sail across the ocean, fight other "players",conquer islands, and upgrade your boat. I still don't know why it got removed.

gotta love voodoo's very interesting and not at all repetitive games
  • Jetpack Joyride was the gold standard for free mobile games. I spent so many hours on that game.

At the start, VooDoo was a good mobile company, with unique games to kill boredom, but now, it's only hungry for ads

The original dune, before voodoo "mobilized" it, was an extremely good game. Back then the art style was a bit simpler, and there weren't any ads or major in-app purchases. I remember playing it on my old Windows 8 phone when I was a little kid. I don't think it's even updated, since Microsoft cut off windows phone support. Try getting it!
  • Dune's idea was stolen from another indie developer. The developers at voodoo didn't attempt to make a good game, they stole a good game from someone else.

Dune is a ripoff of a very old, very good mobile game named Tiny Wings. Their best game is a ripoff. Edit: Twisty road is another ripoff. It’s a ripoff of another old mobile game called Impossible Road. Very fun game, but never took off because it’s $3 for essentially a minimalist endless runner game (not level based like Voodoo’s. Can’t push as many ads when there’s not forced breaks in the action, can you?).

I found a debug menu in one of their games. I forgot which one, but I remembered you had to draw the wheels for your vehicle in the game. To get to it, you have to click on the coin icon and type 1234 into the keypad. Then, you're free to mess around with what the devs have in the debug menu! Why is it there? IDK, but they definitely fucked up in that regard.
