  • Lupe is definitely in the top 3 of all time. And that’s not just lyrics. It’s entire songs, ideas, musicianship. The only rapper that rapped complex issues better than people spoke them.
  • @Ayurveduh
It’s hard being a Lupe fan, go to Harvard to be a Lupe Stan…..😌
  • @cross1863
People really don't know that this guy is the GOAT, only if people gave him a closer listen.
  • @mrstark1376
Lupe is that dude and he knows it. "Hov think I'm Hov, Nas think I'm Nas That's the trick, you ain't gotta think when niggas already think you are" - Lupe Fiasco - SLR 3 1/2
  • @Sly-Regicide
Nobody gives Lupe the respect he deserves. Drogas Wave was a Classic.
  • @MysteryMason
I credit Lupe for changing my life in showing me the incredible beauty that writing can communicate. The possibilities of writing in verse are endless, and Lupe has certainly taken the art form further than anyone else (by a big margin), but there is still room for even more creativity which is tantamount to any kind of existential search for purpose in my eyes. Awesome video, a pleasure to see other people that recognise this man's superlative genius.

Dope and I agree 100%. There isn't anyone like Lupe Fiasco when it comes to this rap shit.
  • @grump9283
Lupe fiasco is the Actual deep and complex rapper people think Kendrick is
  • @onekeiway
Dots & Lines. That alone. Beyond underrated. That last verse (lyrically and accompaniment of production) is beyond epic.
  • I really appreciate Tetsuo and Youth breakdowns. Only a few can patiently breakdown any Lu track with its myriad of layers. It’s far too intimidating for cats like Dissect and Soulr, so props to you my friend 🫡
  • @MetalSonic420
Lupe is one of the greatest MCs to ever do it. Real ones know.
  • @sourcr3357
He’s absolutely my GOAT. It’s such a shame people can’t understand him and his albums. Drogas wave is my favorite album of all time and imo his best. Think he has recognized that before as well
  • Its not only his skill as a rapper. Lupe is smart, genuine and has so much wisdom

Lupe’s material has so many layers, even down to titles such as “Tetsuo & Youth” to “Food & Liquor”, the latter most of us chalked up to “good & bad”. In retrospect, food can be bad as well; the wrong food &/or even too much. Liquor to so many is not bad either & can be addictive/habitual like any deadly sin… since it can feel good. I love putting these puzzles together.

In 7th grade my mom played food and liquor for me and hes been my favorite artist since. I actually loved his music so much i went to the rise skate shop in chicago
  • He's always my go to when I try to convert non-rap fans into fans. I don't get into GOAT arguments, but there's an appreciation for someone that puts so much effort into their craft and Lupe does that.
