A Good Value For A First Stand On Mower? ► DEWALT Stander Debrief

Published 2021-06-10
Today we're going to do a quick little debrief on the DEWALT stander and weigh in on our thoughts about the demo we've had for the last month. DEWALT provided this unit to us to share with you guys and today we're weighing in on how the demo has gone so far.

We've logged just under 20 hours on the unit in about a month now, and I have to say, I really enjoyed the unit. The question I have for you guys is, do you think this is a good value for a stand on mower for someone that is picking up their first stand on mower?

For us personally, I think the mower is solid, and cuts great, but what it's really going to come down to is that service and support. If DEWALT can handle that, then they'll have a banger for years to come.

  • Just to be clear, DEWALT has partnered with a large network of servicing dealers who are trained and qualified to perform any maintenance or repair work needed on these mowers!
  • i bought a residential ztr years back from home depot, before starting a company. the engine went down a couple months in, and it was under warranty, but it had to be taken to the store, then shipped to the local dealer/shop (weingartz) to get fixed by "home depot". It took a month, and like I said, I wasn't running a business then. Now if one of my machines goes down, my dealer gives me a replacement so I have zero down time and can stay on track while its getting worked on. Brian, I know you know this all already as we use the same dealer, but for those considering this option for business, I strongly recommend a dealer.

I feel like this mower has to be priced like the wright stander B is priced. If this is a 9500 mower I probably would buy a Ferris or toro just saying 👍🏼
  • @ryanfoley9999
That Dewalt is gonna make it easy for people to choose a Toro Grandstand or an Exmark mower great review Brian...

I’m just a home owner that cuts a few laws for our local neighbors. Always bought from my local saw shop solely because of service. I’ll gladly pay a little extra on new equipment because of service down the road. Never been charged for simple fixes and never have to wait for sharpening. I love Augusta Ga.
  • @jsobie7457
Let me sum it up real quick , it’s a cub cadet with Dewalt sticker on it.
  • @tj.fortney
Great video Brian. I choose to buy from a local dealer for many reasons. Have a great day!
  • @ianzig10
I love to mowing vids! Keep up the good work man.
  • Hey Brian great vid man I’m very interested to see how DEWALT decides to expand their line of products. But hey quick question do you believe in having backups like a backup mower or trimmer just in case something in your front line of equipment goes down? would love to here your opinion.
  • @Dale.Nienow
Great video Brian, I am going to a dealer to buy a mower hands down! But the mower looks solid a stripes awesome!
  • @glendajune9140
It’s a great mower, however, I would personally appreciate the dealer support. Don’t know big box stores record in this area.🤔🧐 Loved seeing you mow& the results of your cut. It’s been awhile. I do love it when you cut your own property, those stripes pop my friend. Great video, have a great evening.💯❤️👍🏾😀🙋🏽‍♀️✝️🙏🏾🇺🇸
  • Yeah I just checked price $8999 where I’m located that seems way high I’d probably buy a well know brand at that price point like a toro or scag etc
  • Took my Wright to dealer on Friday afternoon. Was fixed and ready Saturday morning. Local dealer is motivated to keep ur business. A Dewalt contractor will put there products first in line in the shop.
  • What sunglasses is Rob rocking? Those are sweet! Another great video too!
  • Do you know what the cutouts in the edger blades are for. The edge of blades from Ballard? Also love the vids man.
  • @digismurf
I about fell over when I saw my local price. Not sure who would buy one to be honest. I will buy a known brand with dealer support hands down. I would recommend someone starting out to get to know a dealer and look into their used equipment as starter equipment if they cannot afford new.
  • @IHcubcadet
Great videos bud. I no longer mow commercially, but when I did I ran a exmark and absolutely loved it. But if I was to spend that kind of money I would much rather support a smaller local dealer. Also I am a machine mechanic and MTD made products are definitely not my first choice. Now I don’t have any experience with there commercial equipment such as this and the cub cadet, but feel that that kind of coin would be better put toward a better known brand. Time will tell, maybe they upped their quality. 👍
  • @jamescromer1059
I have been in the business for 25 years. It makes nice lines however I've always used exmark for a couple grand cheaper and never had any problems with getting it serviced so it would take a lot for me to change.
