actually got addicted to these recaps, thanks.

I love the ridiculous notion that in like 5 years of trying to beat the race, not a single person ever thought to try driving backwards from the finish line. This challenge was an invention of the movie and wasn't in the book, which I guess shows that Spielberg isn't a gamer. That clue would've been found on Day 1.
  • @ShepardCZ
Fun fact: Sorrento actually planned to destroy OASIS, as per short story "Lacero" by Andy Weir, which was canonized by Cline.

Ready Player One's Oasis is such a cool concept. Wonder if something similar to the Oasis will exist in real life. Edit; Damn this didn't age well

Minus the whole losing everything you've gained part, the VR gaming Would be an awesome concept, it was an enjoyable movie.

Story recapped is narrated by a tts right? Why the hell does it flow so naturally (most of the time)?
  • @Rageren
Easily one of my favorite movies of all time. Someone needs to update VRCHAT like right now.

This is one of those movies where you need to appreciate it separately from the novel. I read the book before I saw the movie and I thoroughly enjoyed both as their own thing. I'm almost done reading Ready Player 2 and there's just no way they can make it into a movie the same way and Ernest Cline admitted he did that on purpose. Read the books, watch the movie. Enjoy both as their own thing.
  • 10:29 When they said that a person's avatar can be whatever they wanted, I was not expecting Tracer or the Iron Giant, but I was 100% expecting Chief.

5 years without finding the first key and you're telling me nobody has ever tried reversing their car in the race track?
  • @bursegsardaukar
The Oasis is the one place that would encourage everyone to stay at home especially in times like this.
  • @kaihiwatari78
Ah yes. The good ol' Ready player one. Btw I would love if they'd start doing trilogies as well.
  • @thedaggonator
you can tell the guy who wrote the script really liked this movie. He had a whole monologue at the end.
  • @ErnestJay88
Game like "Oasis" definitely will exist in real life someday, but rather than people join together to find the prize, people likely to ruin the game with mods and chatroom will full of dank memes.
  • I highly recommend to read the novel, it's even better than the movie.
  • @Cr3wcmber
I would love for the oasis to exist because then people could connect with each other without having any self conscious thoughts like they don’t think they look good enough. Just so many opportunities for introverts to become extroverts.
  • @DryserGames
if technology keeps getting better we would have something similar in the near future
  • @TheEyrie
This was fun for me as all the external shots were filmed around my hometown, Birmingham in the UK...mostly around the city centre and business district.

Love the narration for this particular movie, the matching background audio makes it even better.
