For anybody who thinks oil pastels look juvenile. I've literally seen fantastic artwork done with Crayola products.

Oil pastels are so convenient, little setup, versatile , and less mess. Wish I had discovered them before investing so much into materials for other mediums.
-
I’ve just started playing with some oil pastels after someone gave me a package of them. Perfect timing to come across this video! Looking forward to having some fun with them!
-
Love this! Thank you for validating oil pastels! They are one of my favorite mediums and often get dismissed as a legitimate fine art medium. Will share this video with my students.
-
That last technique was particularly interesting as a way to achieve fine lines and marks.
Thanks for sharing. -
Its nice to see other left handed artists 🥰

I've been on my art journey with oil pastels since 2020 and somehow I didn't come across this video while I was searching for oil pastels tutorial. I also didn't know lots of ppl be looking at oil pastels as immature art tools or what... Then again, I shouldn't be surprised since ppl view coloured pencils like that as well. I guess I've been working with double the juvenile tools all these years. XD
I love doing my arts with both coloured pencils and oil pastels. Everyone should try it out! Thank you for sharing these techniques! -
Very cool and inspirational. I'm going to experiment with baby oil, oil pastels and oil based colored pencils today. It is a messy medium though. I was leaving black marks wherever I walked and realized I had a piece of black crayon stuck on my shoe😂

Thank you so much Tom, it’s always really really helpful and useful to watch you create these patterns and create with oil pastels too. I really really love ❤️ the painting at the end, it’s stunning too. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags

I like oil pastels and the way they smell as well- for me is a good memory there. The softness of texture and colour makes them a total joy to behold.
