Ranking Every Series of the Alex Ovechkin Era | Pt. 1 (9th-24th)

Published 2024-08-03
Watching the Alex Ovechkin Era unfold in the playoffs has taken years off of the lives of Capitals fans. Even more than your "average" playoff sample size. The Washington Capitals since 2008 seem to have been blessed-slash-cursed with very close, tense series at a rate higher than what the human heart can take.
With Ovechkin's era nearly over, step into my office so we can talk through the traumatic memories of these series together, and find peace in the greatest spectacle of sport in the world.

Your style is coming together so well, I love the extra touches on presentation in these last few videos and the polish is crazy given how often you upload. I can't imagine how long it takes to put everything together. Thanks for your hard work, I'll do everything I can to spread the word on these videos to my hockey friends. So glad I found your channel

Babe wake up new Pinholes Graham video just dropped
  • I had "That's All" by Genesis stuck in my head the entire time I was making this lol
  • To be continued... Part 2 is still in the works so, any constructive criticism? For example I feel I could've made it more clear in each year where the Capitals were as a franchise.

As a Leafs fan, this is one of the most relatable videos on YouTube. Except for the winning playoff series part. We only do that once every 20 years. I'm also interested in where the Capitals vs Leafs series lands. That unlike many series, had MANY overtime goals.

This model and video is fantastic! Can't wait for part two. I also hope you consider applying for Crosby's career as well (though it might kill you in the process😂).
  • “And EriCK Sheldon.” Bro I just spit my drink out all over my screen that was too funny
  • @wild_insomnia
can*t imagine amount of work put into this great video
  • @Gumble18
Pens fan here. Really enjoyed this retrospective! Really respect how Caps fans love their team and pour their entire selves into every game and every series. Can't wait for Ovie to break the record. (Also, please do this for the Crosby era Pens!)

these graphics are by far some of the funniest you've ever made. the 'psychologist' remarks got me rolling.
  • Pinholes, to you and all caps fans, I am sorry for what your franchise will become post-Ovechkin. I wish you all an accelerated rebuild.
  • @buixy1352
Oh yeah, I just love re-living the most traumatic moments of my life on a Saturday night.... can't wait for part 2

I feel like there's no better YouTuber when it comes to ranking stuff. Literally your first video was what got me subscribed and so I love seeing this kind of content.
  • @TheFusionmix
Love the graphics in this one. Always a boost to the day when a Graham vid drops, thank you for all the work you put into these!

I completely agree about 2020. I’ll always ask what could’ve been. Ovi was nearing 60 goal pace, and the Caps were nasty that whole year. They looked completely different in the bubble. But I will always be convinced, even if not realistically, that had the Caps escaped game 7 with the Canes (or had Oshie not been cheap-shot’d of the playoffs) they had a more than decent shot at repeating. That roster (more so than 2020) was stacked and I believed it to be better on paper than 2018, especially with Ovechkin and Backstrom playing in the way they did.
  • @BurghFinsFan
Enjoyed this even as a Pens fan. Part of me was kinda happy to see Ovechkin finally hoist the cup. I hope the Pens and Caps meet in the playoffs again some day.
  • I haven’t watched yet but I just want to say I will NEVER forget the duelling hat trick game
  • Great video! As an often emotionally hurt Caps fan, not all of these were fun to remember! Glad you used your skills to make this dedication to our Caps
