  • Mike, I don’t own a turntable, I live on the other side of the world (Singapore), but I’m here simply to enjoy your storytelling. Thanks for this.

Mobile Fidelity founder Brad Miller was a steam train enthusiast. The name Mobile Fidelity comes from the fact that they originally released records of (mobile) trains.

Wow, that's incredible! You always seem to run into the coolest collections. 😎

Wow, awesome! Thank you Michael. Have a wonderful one
  • I really like these stories because it shows how the sausage is made ( or vinyl is stamped and selected).

Living close to MFSL (Sebastopol) in the 70"s and 80's a local record store (PREZ Records) was kind of the dumping ground for test pressings from Mobile Fidelity. He would put them in the $1 bin ($2 for Beatle TP's). I didn't care about the white covers, I only wanted for the music, so I bought as many as I could. Included a lot of Un-Released Titles. Most of these were lost in 2017 fire
  • You'll be shipping me an order tomorrow so toss one of those Bowie Let's Dance in :))))

“I collect unreleased MOFI test pressings”…..the brain explodes with potential praise, mockery, rejoinders , social commentary, questions and quips! I’ll just go with : LOVE YOU, MIKE!
  • A full run of Beatles UHQR’s?! Holy crap. First time hearing about that. Insane money for those I’m sure.
  • @audiotomb
I saw 5 of these in a record store in Baton Rouge and passed on all but one of them. What no covers, no labels I didn’t realize they were test pressings
  • If I got any mofis in the store it was a great day!! Good job.. I have a couple of the train LPs.. they are the earliest ones from late 60s early 70s! Phenomenal work

I found tons of mofis at a thrift store six years ago.
