Probably hard to imagine for the younger generation: if you grew up in the 1970s or 1980, the "Year 2000" had a magical ring to its name. Futuristic, new era, a sci-fi world. On the morning of 1st January 2000, I jokingly asked a friend "Where are the spaceships they promised us back then?".

I was 2, i'm 17 now. I wish i could have been at least 12 to really see the millennium! Happy 2015!

I was a bus driver on New Year's Eve, 1999. I'll never forget, I was in the middle of taking a break when the clock struck midnight. I glanced through the front door of a club to see across the room at the people playing poker machines. Staring at the screens, while all the cheering and singing went on nearby. Same as it ever was.

New year, new decade, new century and new millennium. How lucky we were alive for this.

This makes me feel so old. I watched it alone as a 19 year old; seems like yesterday. I just can't believe it was 20 years ago. Listen to older people, folks, time really does fly past as you move into your 20s and 30s. I can only think it goes quicker in your 40s, 50s and beyond! A scary thought because in another 20 years I'll be nearly 60. 😬 You just don't believe it when you're young, but it's real - time speeds up dramatically.
