    I work at a Ford dealer and I change a lot of these trim pieces. I don’t know what makes them fall off so easily but if I had to guess it probably has to do with the heat. The trim piece is 2 parts, the lower and upper pieces. The lower piece is bolted on, which you can see in this video. The upper piece, the part that always falls off, is held on with 3m tape and retaining clips. Whenever you have it repaired, they are supposed to replace both the upper and lower, because simply reattaching the upper, or replacing only the upper without replacing the lower piece will cause it to fall off even quicker. TLDR poorly designed part
  • I work on car windows for a living and those Ford explores are basically a design flaw that are knows to come off from daily use like driving and car washes. The company I work for got so tired of warranty them out we decided to make our own version that hang on better than the original. Good job Ford.
