Yip. Remaking songs is the best tip. I increased in abilities JUST from remaking one song. And it's a great way to learn since you pick the song you like and end up learning the genre you like

I definitely need to structure myself, but it's hard when I don't even know what I need to learn. The amount of resources available can be overwhelming!

The biggest takeaway for me is the 80/20% rule, Im guilty of overindulgence in tutorials

I am a music producer from China, and I strongly agree with the viewpoint expressed in your video. Let's keep improving together!

Exact reason why i whent back to school to learn sound engineering, music production mixing and mastering to rly get indepth on how to sculpt sounds with a teacher, cause you can only learn that much on your own and the worse part is you might teach yourself the wrong things imo😅

Starting music production by myself, I realize I need to structure my learning and your advices are sooo helpful ! Will definitely come back to this vid again. Also, hi from France ;)

Thank you PLV for this video; 5 years ago I also started producing music with the goal that I one day I could finally do it as a full-time job. In the process I burned out badly, 2 times in a row, which led me to stop pursuing what I knew was my vocation. In the meantime I started DJing hoping that the skills I would eventually develop could be converted in music production making it more natural. This made me crave to release my own songs even more to the point where I felt ready again to get back on track. The fear of getting burned out again though never got away, so I started to procrastinate really bad in order to find THE best way to grow as an self-taught artist and shortly after everything stagnated again. Today I casually came across this video and decided to give a shot; needless to say that now I have hope again. There's something in the way you talk about these tips, maybe it's the subtext of your own struggle into carving a path for yourself I relate with that shines through, which make your words pure gold for me. Thanks again.

This channel is a gem happy I found it
  • @EKOHFLARE
I’m way too self-conscious to ask for help, or share my music to get feedback. The fear of realizing that all my hard work was for nothing, is no joke. I just keep creating unfinished songs, trying to figure what the fuck I’m even doing here and should-I just quit everything.
  • What a fantastic video for beginner producers like me. Thanks for making the effort to post this!
  • @kroh
