The new Fairly Oddparents might be DARKER than you think! Although the adventures of Hazel, Cosmo and Wanda look sanitized compared to the days of Timmy Turner, looking into another show one of the new creators worked on may give us insight into what this new series is REALLY going for!

the pilot make it seem like cosmo and wanda are taking hazel as their godchilden in an unofffical form, because cosmo and wanda are retired but decided to help a kid cause they missed doing that.
  • The animation actually looks clean and pretty, I just hope the writing is just as good or even better.
  • I actually really like the idea of showing a kid who needs fairy godparents because of their internal problems. Timmys life was a living nightmare because of the people around him, but that's not the only way a kid can have extreme struggles. it'll be cool to see the same premise in a different context. I also love the look of it so far. they didn't just make basic 3D models that just look like toys or figures from the original, they re-injected PERSONALITY into it. it doesn't feel nearly as lazy, and any dislike/criticism of it (that isn't just aesthetic preference) is either pure nostalgia or blind bias against CG

As long as Cosmo isn’t pregnant again I’ll happily give this a chance

damn...twist being the pixies bought out fairyeorld and now not only do the fairies have to deal with da rules, they have a quota to meet. to which, if they fail to meet their quota, theyre fired. and a fairy godparent without wishes to grant leads to magical backup, and fairies start turning to dust piles with eyes en masse
  • I watched the leaked full episode, and Hazel is so much better than Sparky and Chloe for being relatable when she became so lonely that she even thinks of her sibling as her only friend

I wouldn't say that the video raised my expectations, so much as it made me aware. I had no idea that there was a new series coming out, at all. At first, when I saw your video pop up, I groaned. I do indeed fall into the pit of people who are tired of studio rehashing old material, and failing at it. After finishing your video, I do find myself optimistic. While I will hold my self from getting to excited, I am interested to see where this is gonna take the show.

Well damn, mission accomplished. Never thought I’d be excited about a Fairly OddParents property again, but everything about this looks promising.

That be great to see the pixies again, the original became stale and generic without them which is pretty ironic when you think about it.

cant be as dark as bringing a hampster back to life then having it want to kill timmys parents because they were supposed to feed it while timmy was at summer camp

This is the chance for the Fairly OddParents franchise to end on a good note after the horrible season 10 finale
  • I mean at least Hazel’s reasoning of getting godparents is far better than that Mary sue, Chloe Carmichael’s reasoning.
  • It’s weird that they got rid of poof in this new reboot, maybe that’s due to him already grown up like Timmy? However This is actually better than S9 and 10 of the original show and I’m curious to know that if we ever get a chance to see Mr Crocker get hired for a new job where hazel lives in cause he’s one of the most important villains in the show.

If you HAVE to bring back the show, this is the best way to do it. Same premise that made the original so beloved, but with a new protagonist who's different from Timmy and adapted for the modern age. Fairy Odder did that too, but very very badly.

It would be really cool to see the new Fairly Odd Parents series take a more serialized approach. Although I do like the episodic nature of the original series, the overall concept of this franchise has a lot of potential for lore exploration and emotional depth for its characters.
  • @toonninja
When your older and realize Fairies: represented imagination and child like wonders with no responsibilities Pixies: represented somewhat the adult world is like with little imagination more responsibilities
  • OK! One of the Creators being involved with infinity train definitely sold me on giving this reboot a shot!

One wild thing about the animation industry in Canada right now; most of us are out of work, and any jobs I have seen are asking for a MAXIMUM EXPERIENCE of 5 years. I've been in this industry since 2011 and I might well be pushed out of the industry soon. They want to hire newer animators who they can much more easily abuse and not pay nearly as much.
