Professionally trained classical musician chiming in: I hope to find the "original" sound file and analyze it. But off the bat that sound Cernan and his colleagues heard, as briefly replayed here, sounds neither otherworldly nor like music to me, although from an abstract point of view I can understand why it could make them think of some non-tonality kind of "cosmic music." Plenty of experimental "music," including electronic, had been made by humans by the time Apollo went to the moon. I find it significant that it happened (exactly?) while they were facing the side of the moon that permanently faces away from earth. I hear two, possibly three pitches that seem constant in volume and stable in pitch. That reminds me more of something electronic and/or mechanical. I wonder whether they turned anything off in an attempt to isolate the sound. All that said, it was probably smart of the astronauts not to discuss this publically, but I'm glad the audio file survives. That could allow further analysis and maybe a plausible or exact explanation.

First of all, how's temperature going to show up on radar? Second of all, why would it go out when the planes show up? If it was the temperature in fraction, it would still be showing up while the planes were there and they're not seeing anything. Why would they disappear just because they're planes? Are there?

One thing I don't get. How do craft from say light years away, just crash in NM? Supposedly there were storms at the time. However many airplanes have been hit by lightning without a problem, even Apollo 12 got hit by lightning. Despite a computer reset. Apollo 12 continued on and completed the mission to the moon. Later NASA would have stricter launch schedules to prevent another lightning strike, which probably caused some anxiety. What crashed in Roswell was not a balloon, but I doubt it was little green men either. Ever look at a 1940's Horton-229 and later US B-2 bomber? I bet what crashed in NM was some captured n*zi tech the US was testing. There was a mishap during those tests. With it being the beginning of the cold war. No better way of covering up the accident then to say it was aliens, then redacting it to a weather balloon. Making people debate among themselves if it was really little green men, or just a balloon. Probably a PSYOP move.
