This is the episode that got me hooked on Hometown. I had seen bits of other episodes but I wasn't really into HGTV. I loved how Erin and Ben respected the meager budget but turned this house into a lovely place. And now Hometown is my favorite show on HGTV.

A tight budget really makes these folks shine.

For the budget that reno is just brilliant and the location is gorgeous. I love how Ben always adds something custom that he has made. 11 out of 10 for this one as the house to start with was plain awful and ended up for a very reasonable price beautiful.

She is so lucky to have this house and property. Erin & Ben did a magnificent job. This is one of my favorites episodes !
  • The view is magnificent! She got a beautiful little house in the most idillic setting for $75k! How blessed.

Enjoying these realistic makeovers. Cheap houses and small budgets. Creative solutions and great choices. Erin and Ben you guys are very entertaining and fun to watch. As a person who brought a cheap house over 20 years ago, everything was broken. No extra budge to fix things but, over the years one problem at a time. Our little house sits on a double lot in the City a few blocks from the River and over the Bridge to the Beach.

If the land is also hers she has won a watch. Beautiful cottage outdoors and in.

What a charming, sweet place. The setting will be the muse, indeed, forever. Thanks for sharing this transformation!
  • Erin and Ben are so gifted that every simple think they touch become marvellous....great little tiny house sitting on the greatness of mother nature with a million dolar view... 👏👏👏👐🌷💙💛

Always love what Erin and Ben can do! ❤️ I can’t believe the kitchen counters were laminate, they could pass as stone!
  • These two are just so stinking cute! I love every single episode. 🥰🥰

So creative! You pack so much smart design into every home. It is as if you breathe new life into each room! I always get the impression that you look into the home owners' hearts and design dreams beyond what they can articulate. Love from Tulsa ❤
  • Erin & Ben~ I love you both and you have outdone yourself on this home❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️ what I wouldn’t give to have a little piece of heaven like this. Kudos to the decision you had in repurposing so much of the would within the house as well as going out to the college and getting some and then reusing the beans from the front porch and putting them out back on the landscaping etc. I like the way you gave the owner stairsteps in the front on three sides instead of just right in the front! I can’t tell you how many times when I was landscaping that would’ve come in handy for me. Her view in the back is like no other and I’m an artist and I took several snapshots so that I could paint The scenes around the pond because the colors of the trees were breathtaking but the fog coming up off of that pond I was also stunning. I loved the Porch swing you made and you two work SO WELL TOGETHER ♥️♥️😊🌈 you are absolutely my favorites and I love your homey style that’s your name homestyle. Everything is just so comfortable and you think of all the details. You came in under budget which I’m sure the buyer/owner was very grateful for that. I can’t tell you which room I love the most because each one Remarkable; the kitchen barstool counter where are you did a Faux- painting to look like tile Turned out amazing!! I was a little doubtful but then when I saw the finished product that really was and impressive results❣️❣️ Ben, you always do yourself with all the special woodworking you do and you call me I need that this was your favorite house and I definitely agree with you… I think of all the houses you guys have done, for the money, this one is it and I know I am being swayed by the backyard to be honest. Also very smart of you to check out that bathroom window and make room for a stackable washer and dryer. This will be a wonderful first time house for this buyer. You guys are such a wonderful addition to your communities😊♥️♥️♥️♥️

What and adorably charming tiny home. It is as cute as it can be. It looks fresh without looking brand spanking new. I love every single part of it, including the back yard. I'm sure she'll love it.
  • @hollyt6848
So cute! I’d love to see the bedroom.
  • Screen that back porch. Oh my, there'll be skeeters, gnats, and bugs coming off the pond. Deep South biting insects are numerous and annoying. Good job on renovation.
  • @130crowd
Love this pair! My favorite part is the squeaking of the owners in the reveal.
  • @vprice84
Love the slightly eclectic decor. Great one !
