  • By the way: This is NOT the TOP 5 Pokemon who became good years later, we are doing a follow up video on that so stay tuned. These are just five of them who also fall into that category.
  • Shoutout to Tentacruel for taking 20 years to finally become the king of Gen 1 UU. It may not be OU, but it is very impressive
  • @troykv96
The case with Moltres is hilarious, Moltres became popular because Fire Types were pretty much non existant in OU, so people could safely use extremely bulky teams that were allergic to Fire. And then Moltres saw and said "Hey~"
  • Honestly i used to think this channel had so much latent potential, with the quality of narration and the endless supply of content that is pokemon there was so much more to be done than just the same content over and over again, but now with this wave of new variety I think the quality has gone up a lot. Really think this will perform even better on the platform.
  • @pokeaimMD
surprised the screech choice band dugtrio set wasn't mentioned. as clef ran knock off but dugtrio was able to beat it by screeching, getting knocked (which clef would do to live 2 eqs) and still lose to EQ haha. awesome vid bro
  • @Zanedotmidi
Clefable really needs a remake imo, they've come so far and there's so much more to cover than the current Clefable video is capable of
  • This was a fun idea! I think two videos you could do are "Lower Tier Pokemon that did better in higher tiers than their own" or "Most dominant OU strategy for every generation".
  • I kinda want to see the polar opposite. What pokemon were utterly dominant to the point of being ban-worthy, but they are now unviable as a result of meta changes.
  • @kickerich9402
This Channel is the most underrated Pokemon Channel on this platform. Consistent quality for half a decade now, 0 controversies, just good content.
  • I think a video covering generally bad Pokemon performing well in ou would be interesting and why they did so well. Like gastrodon in gen 4 and 5 out. Technically nu, but viable in higher tiers and gets great results
  • @Crusina
Awesome idea for a video. This new variety is insane. And to think I used to worry what would happen if we ran out of pokemon lol
  • I remember discussing the Dugtrio rise and subsequent ban years after the generation passed and the person I was talking to just could not understand how in a game with hundreds of pokemon with multiple abilities, moves, items and natures, that some combinations just go unused or even just go under the radar while a certain meta is taking place
  • @Filthy_Cubes
You should do a video going over almost useless moves that found a unique niche like DPP Donphan with magnitude.
  • I am so glad you're branching out to different ways to covering competitive pokemon! Now... about that Gengar remake... >.>
  • @Xalvadore505
It's interesting how ground by itself isn't that special of a type, but combining it with another type makes that pairing amazing defensively, like the ground/poison described in this video and the water/ground combo that's only weak to grass and makes Swampert, Gastrodon, Quagsire, and Seismatoad pains to deal with
  • @rektorik84
Excited for this video! Next we need the opposite, 5 pokemon that fell off years later!
  • @alexdrake4081
The chances of Kellen seeing this are low, but I want to say I’m happy you are diversifying your videos and that said videos are doing great, it be nice to see you re do the how good were type videos actually; we see that ice type video at the end of all your videos and I think now you have every reason to bring it back. Keep up the good work Kellen and crew

Another testament to Moltres' newfound viability are it's career in BW2, USUM and SwSh -BW2 gave it hurricane, providing it a niche on rain teams. It never rose to OU in usage but it was a effective check to Volcarona and Ferrothorn in rain which no other mon could do outside of Terrakion. -In USUM, it rose from NU to UU. USUM UU was packed with monsters like Mega Aerodactyl, Mega Sharpedo, Starmie, Crawdaunt, Feraligatr, Mega Manectric, and Mega Altaria ready to prey on it's weaknesses. This was also way before heavy duty boots too. Due to it's ability to check steels like Mega Aggron and Scizor and insanely powerful flynium Z hurricane obliterating anything with neutral resistance, it showed it was far more effective than it's weaknesses made it out to be. -In SwSh, it spent a brief time in OU due to heavy duty boots removing it's stealth rocks weakness and it's ability to check various threats such as Rillaboom, Kartana, and even Cinderace. It lost hidden power but was still able to prey on fire types that should wall it like Heatrna and Volcanion with scorched sand and Preesure PP stalling with Roost. It also got a regional variant that was extremely dangerous under the right conditions. If only it's fellow flying legendary Articuno could get thrown a bone that would skyrocket it's viability. It's regional variant was great in low tiers but now terastalizing may be what something that Articuno needs to finally stand on it's own in higher tiers.
  • These types of videos are cool because it shakes up the “How [Blank] was [Blank] Actually?” formula 🤗
