Catherine & Peter | their story [s1-s3]

After the ice scene happened, and I quickly looked over the rest of the season to make sure Peter’s actually dead, on the second minute my mind caught up to me and I remembered that I was expecting that to happen in season 2 and was kinda shocked that they took a love story turn… so everything was right story-wise, despite how freaking sad it was. But the first minute after I saw all I was speechless. They really managed to catch us off-guard and got us to believe that he’s safe in this story by not killing him after the coup, like it was supposed to happen according to history. And then they killed him off anyway, and in the cruelest way possible, right after he talked about wanting to be important and leave something great after his death to remember him by. And now no one will remember him being great even in this crazy universe, not even his own son, whom Peter loved so much… That was so, so cruel. The show was always pretty dark, but this season… my God.

I’m gonna stay in my delusion and think that the season ended in s3 ep 5

I cried so hard in season 3 that it was so natural. I didn’t even bother to hold it in because the emotions were so raw and real. Elle Fanning and Belinda Bromilow did such a fantastic job conveying grief and denial.

I am up to 3x10 and I blame Nicholas and Elle for their insane chemistry! I totally forgot how cruel Peter was in the first season and completely understand why Marial hated him. Watching s2 & s3 and how close they became and how we fell in love with Peter and Catherine, my murder royals, their story was complex but their chemistry is so good. I look forward to seeing how Catherine grieves but shines in this new era.

I love the speed that people work

The real story wasn't a story of love, she hated him and thought him to be a genuine bane on her adopted country(she was German/ Austrian). She forced abdication 6 months after ascending to the throne and 8 days after he was killed at the hands of Alexei Orlov. The REAL love story and match was between Catherine and the courtier Grigory Potemkin.

In his death, All I could think about was that poor angry horse who went into the frozen water with Peter and was like “WTF”.

Wow never been so impressed with the chemistry of this couple ! Especially that it was actually tragic but I can’t deny the way they had built each other through out the show. I thought that was absolutely endearing ❤

Can I just lie down and cry for a minute? I do love that couple, I find them adorable and created for each over. Why he died before he did something notable as he wanted? How Pavel will be without father, who loved him so much? It's so unfair and cruel...

Many people really loved Peter in the end because he became a good man. 💔 How it started and how it's ending just breaking my heart.

I love The great despite Peters tragic passing, i can see why he died. They were both holding each other back in diff ways, which was painful to watch as well. It took a while for me to get over it, but at the end of the day, The great is fire. And i will forever love it❤

I still like the show even after he 'died'. It also highlighted Elle's acting skills so hopefully there's a 4th season

For me, I didn't think Peter actually died after the ice scene. (Although knowing the history). I still hoped that he would show up again. May be Elizabeth jumped into the icy water and she didn't see his dead body. That's why she said he was resting well in this cold water because there was no actual dead body of him. Lol that what I hoped till the very end of the season ...but 😢😢😢😢 I am silly I know 😔
