A quick and effective way of updating the bios on specifically the x570 motherboard for compatibility with the Zen 3 Ryzen 5000 CPU's in this video. If you have a B550 motherboard, the process is the same except a different bios file has to be downloaded.

0:16 BIOS File
1:00 Formatting The File

  • For those who have some trouble flashing bios - make sure that before unzipping the folder with downloaded bios, You have checked the box 'unlock' zip folder. Click right button on zip folder and down there can be information like - 'Protections: this file is from another computer and can be blocked to protect your computer' and checkbox next to it 'unblock'. It helped me to solve my problem with bios flashing.

if your light still isnt blinking try and use the MBR partition instead of GUID. most videos show GUID as the correct format when MBR worked for me

Do you need to power on your motherboard by touching the two pins where you normally connect your pc case power on button. Or is flipping the on/off/standby switch on the PSU enough and then pressing the flashback button to start the process.

Thanks a lot and this is so clear and helpful ♥ I have a question and please don't laugh at meXD, I'm going to buy a new CPU for my new build, will this update make MSI b550i edge max supporting Ryzen 9 5900x?

Thanks man. Just a quick update I let msi do the bios update. And my PC crashed. So I did what you did yet loaded the very first bios that came installed. It's working yet should I leave it as is or should I try and get another bios version update installed ?
