Nvidia are FINALLY looking to replace their aging Nvidia Control Panel with the new Nvidia App, and with that, comes some new RTX Dynamic Vibrance filters that use AI to give your games a more vibrant new look.

You can download the nvidia app, here (though at the time of writing it's currently in beta): www.nvidia.com/en-gb/software/nvidia-app/

I was curious to see how this works with the sim, and if it’s something us simmers should consider using. We look at various times of day and consider potential disadvantages with this new system.

I’ll be looking at this app in more detail on my tech channel, on which subject, if you’d be kind enough to subscribe over there, we’re trying really hard to get over 1000 subs, subbing would really help us out:    / @davidnott_

I think the MSFS default looks way more like what you see in real life with our eyes. The changes you're showing look gamey.

I moved over to this new app and noticed the change instantly. Its really a step in the right direction. I'm running a 4090 and it justifies the price I paid for it and hopefully will future proof me for a long time.
  • You can use a filter at night - just need to turn the RTX Digital Vibrance down to 5% Great video - these filters make a world of difference.
  • @Smasher77th
You can directly access the filters with Alt+F3

To me it looks like "Intensity" literally just makes everything brighter. Doesn't seem like it's doing any magic or anything special.

One thing to suggest is to check any adjustments you make against different times of day. Dynamic Vibrance looked good to me until I saw how it turned the black of night into an unacceptable gray with it's brightness "pop".

I'm not flying with DX12 Beta so this has limited use for me it seems. The RTX Vibrance options don't seem to do anything at all.
  • @Stu_Murph
Had no idea this existed. TO THE PC!
  • @tjfSIM
Is it just me, or is this overwhelmingly underwhelming? All I can see is a slight brightness and contrast adjustment. Honestly don't see what the fuss is about.

dynamic vibrance sliders are greyed out because you have the nvidia app open in the background.

Dammn it has been such a long time, i wanna come back on the streaaams btw congrats for 10k !

Nice video. Will try out on my pc. Cheers👍
  • Until they provide these to work with VR Software, do not hurt FPS and they are savable regardless of a clean install Geforce is NOT RECOMMENDED for performance.

"replaces the nVidia control panel". The old classic NCP I absolutely must have. Because I use "Expand Displays with Surround" at all times. And this is in the normal NCP. This is NOT anything like extending windows across two screens. It actually makes 2 monitors into one monitor. For instance I have 2 1440p monitors, it expands those two monitors into one monitor at 5170 x 1440 resolution, instead of two 2060 x 1440p screens. (2 times 2060 plus 50 for bezel correction). Bezel correction eliminates the two side bezels between the monitors from distorting the picture. After doing this, MSFS offers me to set the MSFS in game resolution to 5170x1440. If not using Nvidia Control Panel Expand, MSFS only allows up to 2060x1440p. So when you drag the window across two screens you have only half the resolution compared to if dragging the window while using Expand. Expand is in the NCP, there is no other way to expand.

Nope. Everyone always just seems to be looking for “more” or “different”. Neither necessarily means better. I stopped overthinking it and rather spend my time flying.
  • The only filter available is the new dynamic one. The color and other ones arent available. Why is this?
  • @I_Evo
Worth mentioning that (using the latest Game Ready drivers and on SU15 Beta) for me, and others according to the MSFS forum, you have to set your sim to DX12. With DX11 you'll likely get a dxgi_error_hung error and you can't start the sim. Once I'd got that figured that out I found I couldn't change the Dynamic Vibrance 'on the fly' so it's almost impossible to fine tune for my system.
