Going off of Hero's Path and the shadows of cutscenes, inferences can be made as to when things take place, along with the logistics of how long something would take and what would be where (like the Sheikah Slate for instance). I wasn't the one to come up with the date of Zelda's birthday though. It takes place on the release of the first Zelda game in Japan, further evidenced by Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. The day that Link is resurrected is based on the release date of the game worldwide.
