Ash's Sinnoh Team: We want to have the highest win rate! Paul has entered the chat
  • @elithesia781
I honestly think it makes total narrative sense for Sinnoh to be Ash's lowest win rate because it was the series most dedicated to challenging him and his training methods throughout its entire run. But the whole point is that Ash is so determined and creative that he always gets back up and pushes for wins no matter how many times he loses, and unlike Paul, refuses to compromise his Pokémon's feelings in order to achieve it. Ash won where it mattered, which is why the Sinnoh team resonates with the audience so much regardless of the statistics. Because they're full of personality and we see them continually working to grow rather than having the Ace of the region completely overshadow everything. Even if Infernape did carry the win rate and have the most story significance, he wasn't the only one we got to see. Which is why the overall team is so great.
  • The 60% for the Journeys Team is actually phenomenal when you think about it. I felt like in that series, Ash faced his toughest opponents in the big leagues. The fact that he got a 60% team win rate is nothing short of impressive in my opinion.
  • @Locky_Games
The most likely reason why Sinnoh's team is the one with the lowest winrate is probably because the writers really wanted to make Ash lose a lot of battles. Which was something I noticed while watching DP. In most of the gyms, Ash would have to rematch them up to 2 or even 3 times. Edit: I even predicted it to be the lowest, when Zac said "I couldn't believe this" thats when I had the gotch ya moment.
  • I think the thing that really helps the Kanto team is that they’ve had the most opportunities to come back, and most of the time the writers aren’t gonna go out of their way to bring them back just to lose
  • @a_ferns23
I don’t think Ash’s Sinnoh team having a low win rate has anything to do with his team being weak but more so the strength of his opponents. I mean he faced off against multiple Elite 4 members, lost to Paul multiple times, Palmer, gym leader losses, etc
  • @SonicSwift99
The Sinnoh team having the lowest win rate made me realize just how much of a menace Paul was back in the day. Bro was really on that demon time the entire series with how he was violating Ash left and right. And it's not just Paul, but Sinnoh seemed to have a lot of strong trainers. Like wtf do they eat over there to make them mfs that tough?
  • @zacharygate9842
If you don't count Mimey giving up against Mightyena, since he didn't faint, he's the only Pokémon Ash still has that has a 100% win rate.
  • @AussieDragoon
I'd say with Sinnoh, it's not that the team was bad, the threats they went up against were just more intense and required more development. Just saying, future and previous teams didn't have a Paul and Cynthia if you know what I mean. Hell in journeys when we first meet them, Volkner has a higher rank than the Unova champion did before losing to Ash.
  • @aaravhallen679
There's a reason why Sinnoh is so down :- After Turtwig evolved, he was put in a lot of tough battles, like Barry's dad who is a Frontier Brain He had a lot of battles in Sinnoh and he can't win it all. So it is another reason. The most important reason : All battles in Sinnoh were toooo tough like the one with Barry's dad and the one with TOBIAS, THE RANDOM HACKER AND CHEATER AND FCKIN MF
  • @Monkeylad392
I'm pretty sure that the kanto team was carried a lot by the reappearances they made in the johto league and Battle frontier
  • @berrystrawhat
It’s nice to have the numbers even if they aren’t indicative of strength. A lot of Ash’s Pokémon with high win rates either didn’t battle much, or were fighting much weaker opponents. Losing to one of Leon’s Pokémon isn’t the same as losing to a random trainer’s or even a gym leader’s
  • @Rixec2
I suppose Ash's Sinnoh team being so low makes sense, as the conflict of training ideals that season were really meant to challenge him, and by facing all those losses it caused Ash to question himself, only to then rise above in the end. Until Darkrai.
  • @Ceazo
Talonflame's win rate may not be the best, but it battled in 7 gyms and was always used to pick up momentum for Ash.
  • @aakashgoyal5324
Unova above Sinnoh is interesting , btw Congrats to Alola team for making in top 3 . I mean it's my fav series , I hope people understand how epic this series was .
  • @ResurgentRaven
It kinda does make sense for the OG team to get first overall because some of them carried over into Johto as well. Therefore, more battles and more wins.
  • @ThePikachuKingRJ
Despite only having a 46% win rate, Sirfetch'd definitely had some incredible moments. And that does include like you said, almost defeating Cynthia's Garchomp. That moment alone made me tear up and salute when it fainted whilst still standing.
  • @iancers
Talonflame was quite the double-edged sword for the Kalos team, he participated in nearly every single major battle Ash had in that season, (Probably one of if not the highest gym battle counts outside of starters) but he was also forced to be the first or second one out meaning all he could really do was either A. Lose immediately, or B. Knock one out, THEN lose. Noivern did jackshit for his team tho.
  • @charston1006
I always guessed Ash's strongest team would be his Kanto. Most of them were probably strong rather than other teams carried by one pokemon. This team comprises of pikachu, zard, snorlax, bulbasaur four of Ash's strongest pokemon in one team along with kingler and squirtle which r strong too.
