I’m doing a thing called The Decades collab hosted by @AztecRose, where artists can join and draw a man and a woman wearing fashion from their assigned decade. My decade is the 1920’s, so this is what I drew :)

Here are some things that I incorporated into my drawing:

The hat the girl is wearing is called a Cloche

The girl’s hair is cut short- short hair cut in bobs or similar hairstyles were popular during the 20’s (they mostly did this so that their hair could fit comfortably under their hats! XD)

The girl’s dress is based off of Coco Chanel’s ‘Little Black Dress’. It had long narrow sleeves and was accessorized with a string of pearls. Chanel later said “I imposed black; it’s still going strong today, for black wipes out everything else around.” This dress became known as ‘Chanel’s Ford’ and became an important staple in many women’s closets- regardless of their class.
~Note~ I think actually that the waist of the Flapper dress in the 20's would be lower and less tight, I apologize that I realized this too late >.<

The girl’s shoes are based off of the shoes in Coco Chanel’s original drawing of the ‘Little Black Dress’ published in Vogue in 1926.

The man is wearing two toned white and black shoes which were very popular in the 20’s

He is also wearing a flannel shirt which gained popularity in the 20’s, and cuffed trousers. He is wearing a boater hat

The man is wearing a tuxedo, which became more prevalent in the 20’s. (and he has a cane lol)

And that’s pretty much it! Here are my resources:

Note to @AztecRose:
Thanks for hosting this awesome artist collab! It was really fun to do this! I hope you like the sketchy style I did this in ;)
So the file is in Sprite 1. You can either use the Vector one (costume 2 or something like that). This one is pretty big and might crash your computer if it's not pretty fast D:
The bitmap one is the last costume and it looks just as good (pretty much) and is a lot easier to move around, edit, and it won't crash your computer lol XD
I hope you like it!
