Just a quick review and discussion on one of my favorite recent manga I’ve been reading. If you’re wondering yes I actually did cry to this manga… Pokémon Festival of Champions is sooo good and you need to read it if you like the official manga, anime, or games.

I have a lot of ideas for videos I want to make and will probably start once I move out lol

Before you comment that Blue and Green are mixed up THEY ARE NOT! This is a Japanese Fan Manga, they call him Green over there because Red and Green were the first Pokemon games in Japan (not Red and Blue like in America). Also I forgot what songs I used in this video ;_; If you recognize the songs I used please comment below, I want to add them to the description

Seeing Blue's trauma of unable to touch Pokémon is like the anime's version of Lillie's trauma done much better, while Lillie was scarred and frightened by the past of what happened, Blue gotten hurt by one, and its her issue growing up

Reticate's will is inherited both through Growlithe and Eevee. They each develop in memory of their lost friend. The Pokémon are individually their own characters, it's amazing
  • This actually surpass every official pokemon manga products the art of this manga really throw me out no pokemon manga i read has this type of art/story no pokemon manga Will ever come close to this perfection

The creators if this manga are obviously not constrained by "kid friendliness" or out to sell millions of toys/cards/games etc. Wheras the official works have been utterly consumed by those things, there is true love for the series itself here. The lack of the "corporate touch" really makes all the difference!

I'm so glad I stumbled on this video. The whirlwind of emotions I felt throughout the story was something that I haven't felt in a hot minute, and no official Pokemon story has made me feel this way. I'm definitely hoping we get a next chapter soon!

This is honestly a really good manga. It has so much emotional depth that it achieved! But not only that, the characters are so fleshed out and it just feels like the ultimate versions of them. But I'll just throw it out there, the character cameos are something else. We got Young Skyla, Young Gold, Young Volkner, Young Flint, Jessie & James, Misty's sister Daisy, Mr. Goodshow, etc like an insane amount of cameos from characters from the anime and games just merged into one, it just feels like the ultimate Pokemon experience, because Pokemon fans can see so many easter eggs and references they just put in there, because their are a ton, like I didn't expect them to reference Legends Arceus either. I really glad it didn't shy away from mature themes either like Pokemon abuse, blood, murder, etc. It's like an really mature experience for Pokemon and having a storyline being featured around Green's Radicate is something else, like how it effects him and his team. It just such great storytelling, also the way the manga artist was able to draw Pokemon, because I was so captivated with Pikachu's expressions and emotions, because they're so good in the beginning chapters. This is such a good recommendation for any adult Pokemon fan, because it's got it all.
  • I love how this makes me think back to the special manga and how Red caught Pikachu back when it was going wild in pewter city

This was the kind of mature, grounded story I tried over and over again to write when I was younger and more avid about pokemon than I am now. It's awesome to see how much fans still care about the games, enough to make a masterwork story like this complete with incredible artwork. We all may grow older, but it's all the more comforting knowing that the thing we all fantasized about as kids is now in the hands of people like the author of this doujin. You can clearly see they have the same youthful passion towards these games as the day they discovered it.
  • I fucking love this fan manga! Espeon's and Karen's stories. And that with scene with Red and his pokemon, Those scenes rewrote the chemistry of my brain!

i really like how this fanmanga draws pikachu's eyes, and i love the fact that they show his pupils, makes him seem more badass. Itd be cool if pikachu was drawn with those eyes more often by other people

I love this fan comic it explores Blue’s grief Green’s childhood trauma and Red’s ambition it’s so great and action packed and it really shows the rivalry between Red and Blue and how Green feels conflicted about her friends fighting
  • @TheSlyRomano
I read the chapter where he got Pikachu and I'll be real I cried
  • @jaywhy7150
This manga is both mature and not edgy to the point of it being a bad fanfic

I have known this manga for some time. I love it and downright idolize Karen and Green's fight. They showed his trauma after losing his Pokemon very well. The interesting thing is his Arcanine and his behavior. Green took the emotion out of the fight and the pokemon. Arcanine, on the other hand, seems to still have some emotion. It seems to me that at some point he will stop listening to the trainer and rebel. Karen also told him: You may eventually not hear the voices of the pokemons. After the last chapter, I am terribly excited about the fight between Green and Blue. It seems to me that it will be more of a battle of ideas and a display of their own experiences and beliefs. One thing is certain. It will be epic.
  • @MaxEdrox
So are we going to ignore the fact that Pichu evolved without being exposed to real friendship? 😶 After all, the trainer was frustrated so that must leaded to a lot of abuse before 😕
  • @7ANKOUCH
This is one of the best mangas ive read and its LITERALLY CRIMINALLY ILLEGAL we did not hear or see anything from the author since corona started 😥😭 the author used to only publish new chapters on something like a japaneese commic con . The fight betwwen Arcanine and Houndoom was FIRE
  • @Birdisdaword3839
the pikachu part broke me man, and then red finding it like. Damnnn.
  • Peak Pokémon. I hope they author makes more soon. Typically a couple of years between each chapter 😅
