  • Ra really had a point about theatrics. Like that Batmobile vs bike entrance. Having it roar in the distance and spawn just behind you instead of just appearing in front of you makes all the difference.
  • We've reached the point where technology isn't the bottleneck anymore, its the creativity of the devs.

Batman Arkham Knight: Developed by people who love Batman. Gotham Knights: Developed by people who want money.

I adore Arkham Knights sound design. The noise the cape produces as it flutters in the wind is so crisp.
  • I still can't believe Arkham Knight was developed in Unreal Engine 3, it's so damn impressive.
  • Nobody's talking about how good the sound design in Arkham Knight is. The Batmobile, grappling hook, cape and even just the walk sound great.
  • Man this is such great progress! Look how much the graphics and physics improved in just seven years from Gotham Knights to Arkham Knight!
  • @FrothyMeanV2
Crazy how much they learned from Gotham Knights when they made Arkham Knight! The improvements are incredible!
  • Crazy how Arkham Knight had no actual civilians in its city, yet somehow it still looked far more alive than Gotham knights
  • The Batman Arkham series were on another level. It's so complete. I'm glad they made them

I'm replaying Arkham Knight here in 2023 and it's ridiculous to me how great it still looks. What a game.
  • it's incredible. amazing what you can accomplish with time. the technology never ceases to improve and the devs' expertise and experience really shows as movements are more fluid, grapple mechanics give more freedom, and you can even have rain and better ocean physics! down to the last details! what do you mean, "Arkham Knight came first" ?

It’s not even the visual aspect of it, when you walk as Batman, your footsteps have so much weight and the noise they make when you walk just exudes how much power he has as a character, such a cool little feature there
  • The thing about Arkham that really impressed me the most was the point when you notice that the situation of clothing of batman from start was completely fine but after big missions its torn, tattered, bruised and messed up when you come to ending. It goes to know how much work was put in narrative building. These little things are inspiring and makes you feel the pain Batman has gone through for the whole night.

One detail that puts this into perspective really well. It such a small detail but shows care in the development. Go find a wooden plank fence. If you use the batmobile you can hit the fence it will destroy it board by board. If you drive slow. Which is unimportant but it shows attention to detail. Most of the scenic destruction is very well done.

1 Year ago Today I’ve released this Video on YouTube thinking that it was just another normal day… to my honest surprise this is my most watched video of all time, never in my life would I imagine to make over 12 million people around the world click on my video and watch it! I want to take this moment to express my gratitude to you guys and say thank you to everyone who supported me along my YouTube Journey ❤
  • Reminds me of what somebody said about Dead Space: the reason a 14 year old game can old up relatively well is due to art direction, appropriate visual obscurity, and effects.
  • No one's said it yet but the sound design in Arkham Knight is just impeccable as well. When you soar the sky and fold/unfold the wings, it really sounds like a bat fluttering around.
