Apparently they had the rights for Cap, Iron Man, and Black Panther to appear, but not for them to actually do anything. To be fair, Cap was probably exhausted from looking for his shield for weeks.

4:19 if you look at Magneto’s dossier under aliases, there’s Ian and Michael, which are nods to Ian McKellen and Michael Fassbender… nice Easter egg

Bastion evolving into the form he had when he killed Nightcrawler in the comics had me worried for Kurt when he started bamfing around him.

sinister turned into an old man, then asking Morph like a mirror how he looks then running away sobbing was like something out a Disney movie had me 🤣🤣☠️

This series came out soon after my mom passed. I remember when I was watching X-Men evolution she would always say how “the original X-men show was better” and I never gave it much thought. Now when watching this all I can think of is how much my mom would’ve loved this.

Honestly, the humans almost destroying themselves feels so real. Those that hate and fear never think what it will lead to. War, fights, thier side losing, ect... they judt never think that hatred leads to mutual destruction

I was not expecting a Cloak and Dagger cameo, but I'm here for it. Now I want the next season of What If ..."What if Bastion had joined the X-Men.."

11:55 I am so glad Valerie Cooper isn't Mystique. Seriously look at her arc. She is an old friend of Charles Xavier who identifies as a mutant ally, but it is implied that she isn't really taking thier plight as seriously as she should(the whole jogging on a meeting with Scot scene). When Magneto is given control of the Xmen she becomes more secretive and distrustful and lends support to a new sentinel program just in case it is needed, only for it to turn out to be so much worse than she ever could have imagined. Due in part to her own support she is directly caught in the Genosha massacre. She directly witnesses the actual horror waiting just under the surface for mutant kind from the perspective of someone on the ground and is radicalized. This all leads to that moment where she, a human, makes the declaration that Magneto was right. That moment is so powerful and her arc works so well becuase she is an ordinary human. Her being Mystique doesn't add anything that would improve this and if anything takes away from it all.

Rogue was a powerhouse again. Fight scenes were 🤌 Nightcrawler shined... Didn't see that coming.

Jubilee’s big moment of kicking butt was scary cool. It felt like the things she learned in prior episodes gave her a boost to be one of the characters to commandingly wipe the floor with Bastian. I mean, she clipped his wings and gave him a makeover. 😂

Beau DeMayo confirmed Peter found MJ (plus the Morph's confession), and I believe both Jubilee and Sunspot were in the Earth's atmosphere around this time. I still laugh at the Valerie/Mystique theory, because if she was, they would've been a bit more blatant, and now it wasn't confirmed, it's so much funnier lol It's gonna be a wait for season 2... But X-Men is so back!

I think my favorite character was Nightcrawler, I don't know much about him, but his optimism was really needed in some scenes. I got excited over many of the episodes in the season and I am not a huge X-Men fan, but it made me want to go play Lego Super Heroes for them again. Also DD showing up and getting tossed through a window. ❤ perfection

After Bastion ripped off Cable's arm I was waiting for him to say "Stop hitting yourself! Stop hitting yourself!"

Albeit brief and easily missable, one thing I'm really glad X-Men '97 did in the last episode was finally canonize Kitty Pryde in this universe because she never appeared in the original series because of Pryde of the X-Men. For anyone wondering when Kitty appeared, she was in the board of photos Forge was looking at.

We wanna talk about how Bastion looked like the Archangel, the harbinger of death?

Sinisters little "eeeeeewww" as he ran away was very..... vaudeville like. It's just funny as hell

I’m fine with the “cheesy” element of some parts because at the end of the day, it’s a continuation of a cartoon I watched as a kid. It’s very much like the comics in the regard. Some people take this stuff far too seriously and have issue with stuff like the Phoenix wrapping everything up quick and in a hurry (shout out to Rob).

I was hyperventilating when Bastion went to his "final form" from Messiah Complex. More so when he was fighting Nightcrawler. I kept thinking, "PLEASE NOT KURT DIE TOO! LET THE FUZZY ELF LIVE!! LIVE!!! DAMMIT!"
  • @T.K.Fischer
I also thought that they kinda left stuff between Scott and Charles unresolved, but looking back there is a line where Scott confronts Bastion saying "Hey, sometimes parents screw up." At first I thought he was talking about himself and Cable, but now I think he may have been talking about Charles and this is Scott accepting that Charles meant well even if he did make mistakes.
